My time in Gran Canaria and at the Surf Camp is something I'll never forget. From day one, the staff and other volunteers welcomed me with so much warmth, way more than I ever expected. It's the kind of place where you build real connections and share amazing moments. I honestly think it's a magical spot, and if you go with the right mindset, you can really feel the great energy. The schedules and tasks were always respected. José, Teresa, and Serena were super professional, but also really friendly and flexible. This experience gave me so much in every way<3

The kite and surf hostel has been a little home for this last month. They have been welcoming, they were flexible and comprehensive for every need. Helping them and participating to some of their events has been really nice. If you are searching for a life near the ocean where you can live in your bikini that's the one!! Thanks Jose, Serena and Teresa and all the other volunteers for my staying!!

The location is very nice and the kitchen too! For me personally the experience didn't meet my expectations. Longterm volunteers and the manager didn't feel very welcoming towards non Spanish speakers, so I ended up feeling a bit lonely. However, if your Spanish is really good this is less of a problem I think. The other thing is that the tasks were quite demanding. It's 5 hours of cleaning and they're quite critical. They need more staff to do all the work they want to have done in a day. Personally I thought the amount of work is not worth what you get in return.

At the hostel, I found people who shared my same drive, desire to grow, and a great positive energy. I really enjoyed the evenings spent chatting on the terrace, the days shared with other guests and volunteers, and I loved the brightness and sense of peace the island gives off. The shifts are tough but fair, and thanks to the manager Mireja's flexibility, you can organize your time in the best way. I arrived alone, but I never felt alone during my stay :)

Volunteering at this surf hostel was a fantastic experience! From day one, we felt warmly welcomed by both the staff and guests, and we quickly felt part of the team. The hostel has an amazing atmosphere that's both relaxed and lively, making it easy to meet incredible people from all over the world. The work itself was well organised and fulfilling, with plenty of time to surf and explore in between. We learnt a lot, made lifelong friends and felt genuinely valued as part of the team. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a meaningful volunteering experience.

From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the hostel's perfect location next to the beach, social environment buzzing with energy, and the sense of community among volunteers from all over. Management was responsive and always open to suggestions. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, ensuring that everyone felt like part of the family. I left with a heart full of joy and a network of friends that spans the globe.

My experience at the Kite and Surf hostel is something I'll remember for the rest of my life, the environment is an amazing place for volunteers and travelers to hang out and get to know each other. My contribution here is certainly different than what most volunteers should expect because the building is undergoing a lot of renovation. I applied and helped with construction and painting. It was a bit chaotic at times with changes being made on short notice to the volunteers schedules but the wrinkles are getting smoothed out and I'm excited to see what the place will be like when it's done!

Questo ostello accoglie e accompagna dal primo all'ultimo momento chiunque entri: ospiti, lavoratori e volontari creano una grande famiglia con tanta voglia di fare e che si supporta a vicenda. Gli orari di lavoro sono rispettati e costruttivi, ci si aiuta a vicenda e si crea un bel team. L'ostello lascia sempre a disposizione mute e tavole da surf, materiale per fare snorkelling e la posizione perfetta a 1 minuto dal mare permette di vivere la spiaggia al 100%. Gli spazi comuni sono un luogo di incontro per chiunque passi anche solo una notte in ostello. Esperienza super consigliata!

Mi experiencia en Kite & Surf Hostel fue muy positiva. La comunidad de voluntarios fue maravillosa y desde el primer momento me sentí como en casa. El staff es muy cariñoso, siempre amable y disponible para resolver cualquier duda o problema. La isla es maravillosa y hay muchísimo que hacer, así que nunca te vas a aburrir. Ha sido, sin duda, el mejor voluntariado que he hecho hasta ahora. ¡No podría recomendarlo más! ❤️

De este voluntariado me voy con el corazón lleno y una experiencia que no voy a olvidar. Lo que marca la diferencia en este hostal es el vínculo tan cercano que se construye entre todos, huéspedes y voluntarios por igual. Estar a unos pasos del mar y contar siempre con el material de surf, pádel y esnórquel a tu disposición hace que disfrutes viviendo planes espontáneos cada día. Muchísimas gracias a todos los voluntarios por esta experiencia, a José y Serena por todo el apoyo, y en especial a Teresa, por haber estado tan atenta y preocupada por nosotros en todo momento.
