This experience at HSH was one of the best volunteer opportunities that I have had. The hostel staff instantly made me feel welcome and a part of the family. The hours are respected the work is fun. The whole hostel but specifically the staff room and toilets are clean and tidy. I would recommend anyone to reach out on Worldpackers to HSH and volunteer!!!!

My stay at HSH was incredible. It was my first volunteering and from the first day they welcomed me wonderfully. The tasks to be performed are simple and flexible and managers always try to do their best to make your tasks fit with your travel expectations. I met incredible people and I'm very grateful!! Recommended!!!

This hostel Is incredibile. The position is perfect The kitchen Is Always clean and you have all you Need. The staff Is fantastic, from the managers to the others volunteers, you can feel part of a big family from the First day. I enjoyed everyrhing of my experience, i suggest this Place.

The hostel was the first stop of my gap year, and it was such a beautiful beginning that it made me feel excited for the rest of my journey. Everyone I met here was so kind, especially Dale and Gab, who gave me so much help :) I also met many interesting friends from different countries and cultural backgrounds. We lived like a family, spending time together, having fun, and caring for one another. I spent a very warm and happy month in this big family, and I'm truly grateful to everyone I met here for creating such unforgettable and wonderful memories for me. already start miss u❤️

My stay at the hostel was an unforgettable experience, filled with encounters, discoveries and Celtic dances. the hostel is the ideal place to explore Edinburgh while participating in the common life of the place and its maintenance. From the beginning, we feel welcomed, at home, we never stop sharing with the other volunteers and this allowed me to meet amazing personalities. I will go back without thinking, and I cant wait to spend some more time there . I sincerely recommend!

My experience as a volunteer at the hostel was incredible and so enriching. I highly recommend this experience. The management team is so kind and attentive. They make us feel at home! The working hours are manageable and the tasks are very simple, leaving plenty of time to enjoy and explore the city. The atmosphere among the volunteers is also amazing, it's a chance to meet people from all over the world (and enjoy dishes from every country). I met so many wonderful people and I can't wait to go back. Thank you again for these unforgettable moments <3

The hostel is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The required work hours are low and the work is straightforward, which leaves most of your time free for events, tourist outings and socializing with the many other volunteers (there are about 30 at a time). The hostel has a relaxed, non-corporate vibe which means that it feels like home. Being here gave me so many new experiences, hobbies and friends. Thank you to Gabs and the rest of the management team for creating an environment which is so easy to enjoy. To future volunteers - the best guitar is the 4/4. Don't be shy, apply!

My time at HSH was truly memorable! Cozy, clean, loved the people I met there. However, I'm not giving 5 stars because the promised 2 days off per week were not respected. During my stay, I never had 2 full days off, except for one week when I joined a paid trip organised by the company. When I addressed this with the manager, I was told this is how their system works and that I could try to swap shifts with others, which wasn't always possible. The hostel also relies heavily on part-time volunteers, which sometimes made things a bit disorganized. That said, I'm still glad for my time there!

This was the perfect place to have my first Worldpackers experience. Everyone was super welcoming, the working hours were easily manageable, and the job was easy and well organized. The best part is the people you get to meet here. There are volunteers from all over the world, and I was able to create amazing friendships. They also organize lots of events, so you'll have plenty of fun. On top of that, the hostel's location is perfect for exploring the city and enjoying the nightlife. I really, really recommend this hostel to everyone!
