Welcome to our hostel, located in the heart of Kandy! Here, you'll have the chance to meet a vibrant mix of local and foreign tourists, as well as a close-knit local community. Our neighborhood is a hub of creativity, featuring artists from jewelry makers to dressmakers. Come join us and experience the artistic spirit of Kandy!
I spent over 10 years working as a commercial DJ before transitioning to the film and teledrama industry. Eventually, I found my passion in the tourism industry, hosting guests at private villas, boutique hotels, and finally at this hostel. I love mingling with my guests and sharing the vibrant culture of Kandy with them.

From the very first moment I arrived at the City View Hostel Manoj made me feel very welcome.
He is a very kind person, very easy to talk with and always willing to help and share his things with other people. That's why the atmosphere at the hostel was always very cozy and relaxing.
During the week I spent there he showed me Kandy, introduced me to his family and friends and shared his culture with me. He even used his time to take me shopping and buy things I needed.
Together we met many backpackers, made new friends and shared good moments.
I definitely recommend this experience!! :)

Manoj took good care. Showed me around. Got lovely lunch every day. He really cared and showed me the town and explained a lot. Unfortunately there weren't many guests during my stay so socialising with other travellers was nearly impossible. But I had a local experience:)
I had to leave sooner and he was so nice and understanding about it. Thanks Manoj for this unique experience!

I want to clearly say that I had the most incredible experience with Manoj as a volunteer at the City View Hostel! Being my first time as a Worldpacker, we shared a caring and respectful atmosphere where there was space for many questions and learning. I ended up staying for a few days extra, since I fell in love with Kandy— thanks to Manoj showing me around, introducing me to people I can call friends now!
The hostel was a safe and calming space to come back to after spending the day with other backpackers wandering — I would say it was a home far away from my own home.

On my first day of arrival, Manoj kindly showed me around the city and shared the history & culture, which was amazing. I felt welcomed since my arrival in Kandy. Creating stories and a post on social media was fun! I got to explore must visit places in Kandy and learn so much! Taking photos for new renthouse was nice too. I had a great time!

My experience at City View Hostel with Manoj was very good.
We visited the main sights of the city and produced some videos for the hostel's social networks.
Manoj is always very kind, willing to help and very flexible.
I would definitely recommend this volunteer.
