No year at Green & Away is the same - because we are a temporary venue that operates only in the summer, the site may look different depending on the various events we have running that year. The season is split into different phases: set-up, events phase and take-down so the work is always varied. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in all aspects of the camp and even join in on events and educational talks and workshops. One of the best things about G&A is the close-knit community that forms from new and returning volunteers from all walks of life.
We don't have any formal staff - everyone who helps run Green & Away is a volunteer and we're all living and working together during the season. There are a group of trustees who ensure responsibility of the overall project however. Volunteers have their own space to relax when not working and we have plenty of off time, day trips and opportunities to socialise and enjoy the site.

Green and away is an incredible educational experience on how to live a sustainable life — in a beautiful place, surrounded by lovely people.
Being part of the last days of the program enabled me to participate on the events, but also the ramp down. In the end of the whole process, it was incredible to see how much can be done making very little impact in the environment — that actually impacted me a lot, so did the people with their love and kindness.

If you wanna remember how beautiful is life, go to Green & Away. Magical place, magical people. The name says everything: green, connected with nature and with the earth and as a result with every human being that you meet. Away: from crowd, from useless distractions. I forgot I have a phone for so many days, wonderful feeling. Just thank you - to every person that I met: Dan for accepting me, the crew, the guests and life for this experience. It’s completely AMAZING.

I Simply can not imagine a better place to see how to run a wonderful volunteer operation!
“Greenandaway” is a five star program ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ run by five Star people and volunteers!

I stayed is this magical place for 2 months and I felt at home from my first minute to the last. All the people there is really special in their on ways, they really care about you and what you're feeling. When I was there I used to say that the working days didn't seems like work because you enjoy so much and it's not heavy at all! It's such a light and happy place, I didn't wake up felling sad a single day.
This is a experience that I highly recommend to everyone that's looking for self growing, it changed my life for the best and I'll definitely want to come back as soon as possible! G&A<3
