Over 700 people have joined so far, some of them start living in Japan after, some of them got a partner from here.
You can stay in Tokyo not just as a tourist. You'll have another "life" here in Tokyo for a while!
Here is rough schedule for 2024, but I can accept from 2 months before of your staying.

Since my cafe stands for over 40 years, there are many fans in all over the world. I was also a customer since 15 years ago, and took over from the ex-owner 12 years ago. I really like talking with people and sharing our experience together. Our staffs will take you guys to fun places (Especially Friday night), I just want you guys enjoy this program!

My time in Mickey House was absolutely life-changing. The staff is incredibly friendly and speaks fluent Japanese, Yuta-san is an angel and helped us with so many things even if he is very busy. Dorm conditions depend on fellow volunteers, we had our clean and had a ton of fun. Volunteers are responsible for their living space being clean. The Café work itself is also amazing if you are open to social contact. Mostly young Japanese guests that speak almost fluent English, so you can make friends and go out with the locals. The location is very convenient.

Even though it was my first volunteering experience abroad, it was amazing! The boss Yuta is very good and friendly (and also a good brownie maker), the house isn't huge but it's who you live there with that the magic is born, staying with the other staff members is like staying in a small family to go out , cook and chat together. The location is more or less in the center so the main attractions of Tokyo are not far away. The cafe is very relaxing, especially when you talk to the customers, in addition to chatting, you also learn more about the culture, the traditions. W Trip

Good experience overall, Yuta is a good host and it's hard to beat the location of the sharehouse. It can be tiring speaking with customers at the cafe, but that's what I signed up for!
Overall a great experience, Tokyo is WILD.

Mickey House is a really cool cafe and place to volunteer at! You come into contact with both people from all over the world and locals, something that can be hard to get an opportunity for otherwise. The conversations are 5 times a week for 4 hours at a time which can get a bit exhausting if you're an introvert so just keep that in mind! The sharehouse is in a great location close to Shinjuku which makes it quite easy to get anywhere. Yuta was very accommodating and took us to interesting places/events.
I ended up extending since I was enjoying it so much here. So definitely recommend!

good experience overall staff is very welcoming and so are the customers. It was great to be able to talk to Japanese people almost everyday and learn more about the country & culture. Teaching French & help people practice their French was very rewarding

Sidenote, the sharehouse was incredibly dirty with mold everywhere in the cabinets, in the showers, inside the microwave, on the mattresses... and there was also cockroaches.
We tried our best with my roommates to clean all of that but it's a shame to host people in such a place

About house condition, basically people in the house clean up weekly. If there is any problem, you should have tell me at that time. Then I could give you mold killer for the cabinets and shower, also a new mattress. There were no cockroaches in this summer, isn't it because you guys put garbage on the floor when the garbage box gets full? I have a machine to kill roaches, you also should have tell me about it.
