Lifara Rural Hostel
If you really want to explore and feel the "real Spain", this is the place you are looking for! We offer you a unique experience in an amazing setting. A quiet place to meditate, interact with people of rural Spain and enjoy the traditional food, history and events of an historical region.
The hostel is situated in Aniñón, a small town (600 inhabitants) of the Jalón river basin, a wonderful and peaceful place full of history and traditions in the middle of nature. It is located in a three-storey eighteenth century manor house recently rehabilitated, next to a spectacular and unique fifteenth century church-fortress build in Moorish style. The village is situated in the province of Zaragoza, in a strategic point of National Tourist Interest close to historical cities such as Zaragoza, Teruel, Calatayud, Ariza, and Soria and natural places such as the stone monastery (a monastery of Cistercian monks founded in 1194) or the Moncayo Natural Park. The village has different services such as butcher shop, museum, bakery, small supermarket and bars and pubs and it is connected to the near city of Calatayud by bus.
The hostel is a small family business, therefore we normally need as much help as possible all year round. We are open to receive people with different skills, always trying to adapt ourselves to each person's abilities, although we often need an extra hand in the bar/restaurant (bar-tending, cooking, kitchen hand) and doing other administrative and maintenance work (Housekeeping, Web Developing, Receiving guests). The work at the hostel is normally quiet and relax. We are open to receive helpers all year around, although our high season is concentrated between the months of June and August.
We offer free accommodation in a traditional house with shared facilities. Meals and laundry service are also provided. We expect volunteers to work between 20 hours per week, mainly at weekends. In compensation, we offer 2 to 3 days off to explore the region and transport facilities.
