we are a young couple with a beautiful baby girl who open this hostel a few years ago, we care deeply for it and we treat it like it's our home. we have a small staff which taking care for the hostel cleaning and a few receptionists, the mainly help we need around here from volunteers is helping in reception, attending guests and answering for questions from time to time and other project that we might have around the time you'll visit us. we like to do everything around here by ourselves in a Pura Vida way.

I had a great time at Oasis hostel! Unfortunately I wasn't able to meet Tom, but the manager, Michelle, was so warm and nice! The schedule was really flexible, the job doesn't require too much work, just to be there if some clients arrive to the hostel! I had the chance to do small trips during my stay at Oasis because I asked to do double shifts.
About the negative aspects, I will talk about the cleaning. The volunteers' kitchen was always dirty no matter how we cleaned everything, and also full of ants everywhere (in your food too)! Also, we experienced two robbery attempts :(

Lo bueno: El trabajo es de 5 horas y se respetan siempre, lo que es bueno para recorrer Puerto Viejo (que es increíble), la ubicación es increíble, está al frente de la playa y cerca del pueblo. La experiencia fue super buena por los voluntarios con los que compartí.
Lo malo: las instalaciones, el lugar es sucio y el casa de los voluntarios más sucia aún. Le falta remodelación tanto al hostal como la habitación de voluntarios. Hay bichos en las camas por lo que te pican toda la noche. Falta preocupación por las condiciones del lugar.

Amé Pueblo Viejo, es pequeño lo recorres a pie y las playas están cerca tambien. Podés rentar una bicicleta o ir mas lejos en bus o a dedo. Es un lugar seguro. El hostel tiene una ubicación excelente, cerca de todo y al lado del mar, las tareas son muuy fáciles y tenes mucho tiempo libre para disfrutar. Los turnos los podés coordinar con los otros voluntarios. En el hostel hay muchos bichitos, y aparecen monos y perezosos, amé estar inmersa en la naturaleza!
