Projeto MAARA

As we follow the Permaculture principles, our goal is to learn together, share our experience, produce food and enrich the biodiversity of the land. We invite people from all over the world to join us and have a real hands-on experience in agroforestry, organic farming, bioconstruction and other sustainable practices. Also, it is a way to stay away from the hectic world, live in an international community and reconnect with nature.
The Projeto MAARA eco farm covers 30 hectares and is situated in the beautiful mountains of the Atlantic rainforest, close to the Três Picos National Park, in the mountainous region of Rio de Janeiro. The place is very quiet, peaceful and safe.

We are a young family that, in the beginning of 2020, left the city life behind to start a green self-experiment in a countryside in Brazil. This opportunity we also want to offer to our volunteers - to learn from the nature and each other, discover their own strengths and weaknesses and align them without outer pressure. Our volunteers are treated with respect and care, always seeking exchange and communication. We have created an inviting environment where we all can learn together.
