Rougey Lodge is a easygoing surf lodge on the West Coast of Ireland. The staff team is a great mix of Irish and backpackers from around the world, who all love to surf, hang out, and explore the beautiful coastline where we live! Many of us have worked in other countries and other hostels so we know what it takes to run a fun one, while we love the enthusiasm and friendliness of team members who are volunteering for the first time!

Foi a melhor escolha que fiz ter voluntariado no hostel, conheci pessoas maravilhosas dentro e fora do local, a cidade é linda, a praia fica do lado do hostel e tem paisagens maravilhosas.
As horas de trabalho são justas e flexíveis e a Monia (host) foi super receptiva, atenciosa e sempre ajudou em tudo que eu precisei.

I spent almost three months in Rougey, where I felt at home from the first day, both Monia and Peter make sure there are no problems, the people you meet are wonderful, I am Spanish but you meet people from all over the world and you learn a lot, it is very enjoyable. They are very fair with work hours, and very open and resolutives.

Juan is a responsible, kind, friendly and sociable. He was an amazing addition to the team! Good communication, hard worker, would even help out outiside his working hours, good team player. It was such a pleasure having him around. Highly recommended.

My time at the rougey lodge was truly amazing and I can only recommend it to anyone. I will definitely be back.
The work was as I expected it to be and working hours were very well respected.
Altough Bundoran is a small town it is very lively and there is lots to do. You can go surfing, explore the nature around, go to the pub and meet other travellers as well as locals.
Monia and the other volunteers I worked with made my time here absolutely wonderful and I will always think back of the memories I made here.

I stayed at Rougey for 2 months, and I really enjoyed it! I learned how to surf, I experienced the irish culture, I met lovely people, and made some unforgettable memories with both the volunteers and the guests, or even with some local people. The work was actually easy, just basic cleaning, and answering the phone. The manager was very flexible with the working hours, she always respected our wishes! I 100% recommend this place!!!!

My experience in rougey was something I will never forget. It was my first experience volunteering, and I think that thanks to the good feeling that this volunteering left me, I will do it many more times!
The work is very simple and gives you a lot of free time to surf or do activities with the amazing people there.
If you are a surfer, volunteering there is perfect.
I take all the good experiences and the love from Monia, Nikki and the other volunteers with me. I hope to come back soon!
