I had a truly wonderful experience, and felt home from day one. A special thanks to Sami, he is an amazing host: kind, genuine and always available. He made everything easy and welcoming, and we even shared great moments together, like going snorkeling in his favorites spots. I highly recommend this experience to everyone looking for more just a place to stay and volunteer. This place was home, and Sami make it very special.

What Can I say?It's Maldives! Dhiffushi itself says everything by its natural beauty. The house has 4 rooms, and Sami dedicates one of its room for Volunteers. Basictly he dedicates his own room for people like us, and this is so kind of him. He loves the culture of travelling around the world and appreciates giving the opportunity of doing it budget . But for sure, Sami made everything even better. Sami is super friendly and respectful man. He showed me the island when I arrived, we did snorkling twice, took me to another Island. He was always willing to help/support whenever we needed it.

While I appreciate the chance to visit the Maldives, my experience did not match what was described on Worldpackers. There was a lack of clarity about tasks and accommodation, and important details were only shared after arrival. This created discomfort for me as a solo female traveler. I share this feedback so future volunteers can make informed decisions and expectations can be clearer.

Once my two weeks were done I felt like family! The host Samme is well travelled and a very interesting person to get to know. We snorkelled most mornings and ate breakfast and dinner together most days. I met many people living and working on Rasdhoo and felt fortunate to be surround by a very authentic way of life. When I arrived the set up was slightly different than my expectations but Samme is a good communicator and we agreed upon expectations for food, sleep, and work. But it did not feel like a work exchange and felt more like staying with a friend and helping out when needed.

The island is beautiful but the experience was uncomfortable and poorly managed. The host had no real tasks for me and I spent hours doing nothing in a shop. The only room was behind the shop and I later found out he planned to share it with me, something never mentioned before arrival. I felt uneasy due to frequent comments about my image and blurred boundaries with no real cultural exchange. I didn't feel safe or respected. Though meals and snorkelling were offered, this didn't feel like volunteering. Happy to discuss if you message me!
