The Ash is a amazing hostel!! They have a modern building with good rooms and kitchen to cook your own food and a great common area for the guests and volunteers. How a voluntary I couldn't have a better experience! Fabian is a great manager and a better host, very organized about our arrival and shifts. The rest of The Ash's team makes you feel like home and it was a pleasure work and share this moment with them. About the work I can't complain, it's not hard and the most part you do it with another volunteers or workers. You really need ask to Fabian about the drink and food nights with the
The Ash was my first experience as a Worldpacker and I can’t imagine a better way to start! The staff is super nice and they make you feel home! The tasks are ok, usually a night shift, nothing too hard, but they may ask you to help with other stuff! The hostel is awesome, beds are comfortable, bathroom is good and the kitchen has everything that you need! Antwerp is such an amazing city! I could totally imagine myself living there! I’ll miss this experience and the people I’ve met. And BTW if they offer you a regular beer or Duvel, go with the regular beer! Cheers! 😂
The experience I had at The Ash was amazing. The hostel have a very good structure and localization, in the center of Antwerp, and close to everything you need.
All the staff are very nice and friendly, which makes the shifts more fun. The tasks are quiet and shared with others volunteers, so you have plenty of time to enjoy the city and Belgium.
Thanks for everything and see you next time.
The ASH was one of the most interesting places I worked with Worldpackers.
The hostel is very comfortable, the beds are good and the environment is very beautiful and peaceful. The staff is very dear and the guests are very interesting people!
The city of Antwerp is sensational! And it's a strategic point for you to visit many countries around.
On weekends, it tends to be busier. The work is night, cleaning the kitchen and the private areas of the cafe. And some reception activities.
It's worth mentioning that it is an excellent place for you to develop your English :)
I stayed 100+ days & it couldn’t be better. I bought a bike to go anywhere easily (sold it before leaving), started a French Course, made many ERASMUS friends along the Antwerp Univ, discovered the city day by day w/ locals, had been to many bars, parties, parks, music concerts, theater plays.
It’s your time here, nobody will make it to you, it can be either perfect or hell, and it only depends on your state of mind to act and grab it.
And please don’t stay inside the bedroom (checking social media) all day long just waiting for your time here to pass and complaining, life is more than that.
