Unfortunately there isn't any volunteering to actually do. Fiacre picked me up from the airport which was good, but then the next day I was working In his friends restaurant across the road. I went to the project about 3 times and had no responsibilities and didn't do anything with social media, and also didn't feel that comfortable there. Unfortunately I think it is just a way to earn money from the accommodation he rents out, as I did no actual volunteering. Avoid! Had to cut my trip early by almost two months as I was so bored.

Very inspiring work interviewing successful young people, and writing and publishing their mini-bios. I enjoyed all of it! Fiacre and Rodriguez, my hosts, were welcoming, showed me around, and made delicious food - usually vegetarian. My room was private, locked, comfortable and roomy.

I had an amazing experience working with Fiacre on MyStoryHouse! Fiacre is a wonderful host and make sure that I had a great time on Kigali, not only working together but also showing me around everything that Rwanda is all about!

I have been to a few volunteer experiences and I have to say that Byumba is up there with all the others. A nice change from city life with amazing people and the countryside is stunning. I lived in the library for almost two weeks and to wake up surrounded by books and then to help the amazing little people will take a very long time to fade in my memory. Francis will host you and look after the housekeeping side of things and the rest will pretty much look after itself. Life here is very basic so if you're expecting luxury then this isn't for you, I loved it))

Obrigado, David, pelos dias que você passou em nossa biblioteca em Byumba!! David tem oferecido muito às nossas crianças que sempre frequentam nossa biblioteca. Na maior parte do tempo ele ajudava as crianças com a leitura de livros, criando designs e desenhos, elevando assim suas formas de pensar. Ele também trouxe um novo conceito em que poderia mostrar às crianças alguns filmes e, no final do dia, discutir o que viram nos filmes, ajudando as crianças a aprender novas palavras. No que diz respeito ao nosso projeto, David contribuiu muito gerando novas ideias sobre como podemos melhorar nosso projeto para torná-lo mais eficaz. David é um cara flexível que se adapta rapidamente às mudanças.
