Hola!We're looking for volunteers who can assist in the reception, roof terrace, general hostel duties such as making beds and breakfasts, and also with experience cooking for large groups (30/40 people). Equally important is helping create a friendly backpacker environment by meeting and greeting the guests. Spanish speaking and previous experiences volunteering in hostels would be an extra bonus.

We are a medium size hostel with a total of 90 beds (www.thelights.es), one of the top rated and located in the heart of Malaga city center. We choose to use worldpackers for part of our staff because we think it helps create a nice, homey and fun ambiance, and one of your main tasks while staying with us would be to ensure our guests are having a great time and make the most out of their experience at the hostel!

Atividades & Turnos

We are giving you various tasks of the hostel's everyday's life for about 25 hours a week in exchange for a bed in a shared dorm in an apartment, not the hostel, breakfast and dinners when we have them. There are also discounts at the hostel, in drinks and activities.

The main tasks are taking care of the breakfast and cleaning after, making the beds and helping the housekeeper in the bedrooms, serving in the bar and helping the cook on diners nights. Sometimes you'll also do other shifts such as reception help, taking the guests out at night or to activities, going food shopping or helping us keep the place spotless by washing walls, or deep cleaning the fridge. We always try to keep it fair so everyone get a mix of all the shifts.

Regras

You will be working a maximum of 5 days a week and having at least two consecutive days off a week, doing between 4 to 8 hours a day to reach the max of 24 hours. The extra hour is to help cleaning the apartment. We ask an deposit for they apartment keys and it is forbidden to do parties at the apartment or bring people. You can always come to the hostel or join for free to our pubcrawl!
