GEC terá sempre um lugar especial no meu coração. Mama Ida cuidou de mim com tanto calor humano que nunca me senti como um hóspede — eu realmente me senti parte da família. Estou profundamente grato a ela e ao Sr. Bayu por me fazerem sentir bem-vindo, apoiado e em casa desde o começo. Os alunos e toda a comunidade tornaram minha estadia inesquecível. Aos viajantes futuros: cheguem com o coração aberto e valorizem os momentos simples. Cheguei como voluntário, mas saí com memórias, gratidão e uma família que sempre lembrarei.

Tudo sobre essa experiência foi ótimo. Conheci as pessoas mais maravilhosas e aprendi muito sobre a cultura delas. Os anfitriões Bayu e Farida foram ótimos, me trataram como família e sempre me fizeram experimentar comidas novas e deliciosas. O trabalho é muito gratificante e adorei ver os alunos melhorarem e ganharem mais confiança ao falar em inglês. Toda a região é deslumbrante e tão subestimada: campos de arroz, montanhas, fontes naturais, praias e sítios da UNESCO.

I don't have enough good words to describe this volunteering. Meeting the GEC Family was by far one of my best traveling experiences. Mr. Bayu and Ms. Farida are the best and most attentive hosts. You will feel like home while meeting locals and immersing in local javanese and indonesian culture. The rest of the teachers and students at GEC would make your stay in Klaten one to remember, creating meaningful life experiences and friendships for a life time. I've had a wonderful time volunteering at GEC. The school is primarily teaching English to adults, interested in working on cruise ships so the students are usually in their 20ies or 30ies. It was so much fun assisting the classes with Banyu and not difficult at all. Throughout this whole time I was fed exceptionally well and could choose whatever food I wanted. Farida always made sure I had everything I need, took care of my laundry and even invited me on a spa day. :) I'm really grateful for my time at GEC

This experience has been very enriching, I have been able to continue practising English, Bayu is a very attentive staff member who has always made sure that I have not missed anything and that I feel very comfortable, she is also a very funny person and I have been able to enjoy myself with the students, the work consists of speaking English with them so that they can practise it. I would definitely recommend this volunteer, thank you very much 🙏🏼

This was an amazing experience. I came there without any expectations and it was one of the best voluntering of my life. The people there included me in the family since day one. I have never seen that much kindness in such a short period of time. In a typical day, you have two courses (one in the afternoon and the other in the evening). The students are always so cheerful and honestly it doesn't really seem like a course. You just try to have a conversation with them and try to make them understand. I technically was the teacher, but I learn so much from them. I will recommend it for sure!
