O Chris é uma pessoa de mentalidade jovem, isso com certeza trás muita leveza, fizemos alguns passeios, ele me levou para a praia, tomamos vários cafés, também tive a oportunidade de conhecer alguns moradores locais, pessoas muita agradáveis e educadas, enquanto estime na várzea tive a Oportunidade de realizar muitas tarefas que eu já sabia pois aprendi na minha infância, isso foi ótimo pois facilitou meu trabalho, me dando a oportunidade de ser eficiente…consegui ensinar português para o Chris, ele ficou quase fluente. 😅 obrigada por me receber!

Chris is an amazing person with good heart. He has welcomed me with open arms and always made me feel good during my stay. It was my first time volunteering and it was definitely a great start. My stay was short but I have learned a lot from him. Thank you Chris and Shawn for the humbling experience and showing me the “Tranquilo” life. I wish them both all the best and eternal happiness.

Minha experiência em Várzea foi excelente!! Desde o primeiro contato o Chris foi prestativo, atencioso e receptivo. Ao longo do mês, infelizmente choveu muito, então realizamos poucas tarefas, como poda, pintura, além de ajudar outras pessoas que residem no sítio. Várzea é uma pequena vila, onde tive contato com todos, em especial o Chris (claro), Maeve, Agar, Shan e Ian. Sou grata pelas experiências e trocas compartilhadas com cada um deles. Fiquei hospedada em uma yurt, e o Chris fornecia os alimentos de todas minhas refeições, cujo fui responsável em realizá-las.

I really enjoyed my time there and wish I could have stayed longer! The place and the landscape are beautiful. Chris is a very nice host who also took us to the beach and to Lagos. The work was quite physical, but I enjoyed it a lot. He also told us a lot about the place. The yurt was very cozy with the fire and we got groceries so we could cook our own food. I loved the atmosphere and had a lot of fun :)

It was a very nice experience, especially for a week. The tasks were simple and clear, and after finishing work we had the whole afternoon free, as well as our days off, which gave plenty of time to explore or simply relax. Living there really allows you to connect deeply with nature — so much that I even had a few spiders keeping me company at night! 😊 It's definitely an authentic countryside experience. Chris, Sean, and everyone living there were very kind and welcoming. They even lent me a bicycle so I could go to the beach, which I really appreciated. Thank you for the experience!

It was super nice to spend this 3 weeks in Várzea with Chris, Shawn and the other people that lives in the community. The tasks was super clear, the personal Yurt was nice, they follow what they promised. The farm is wonderful, super good nature vibes. It had a river, dog, cats and some chickens that give some eggs to us. The farm it's very sustainable with argila house, composta bath and some fruits and vegetables growing. Aljezur it's a “hippie” village, good feelings. Chris went with me to the beach when I arrived, and show me the castle. I want to come back in future.

Chris y Sean fueron muy cordiales y cálidos al recibirnos. Los horarios son respetados y las tareas algunas son de esfuerzo físico y otras tranquilas en el jardín, tienes la tarde libre por lo que puedes descansar. Es un lugar para sumergirte en la naturaleza y la vida de campo.

My experience at Chris's community was truly inspiring. I enjoyed my own respected space in the mountains in a yurt but had friendly interesting community of music all around me. I was safe as a 18 year old girl alone. Chris is a wonderful teacher and an inspiring learner. He taught me not only about a realistic way of producing a substantial amount of good food from the land around me, but about astrology, the tides, and life in general. Chris is a bank of stories. Wifi was incredible, enough good food, relaxed hours of valuable work, home was warm for winter, Chris took care of me very well.
