Passei o inverno fazendo voluntariado em La Gomera e Tenerife como professora de yoga e gerente da comunidade, e desde o começo me senti acolhida, apoiada e confiada pela Rebeca e Maria. Trabalhar, viver e compartilhar diversão juntos pode ser intenso às vezes, mas é uma maneira tão única de se conectar com as pessoas. Os nasceres do sol e os pores do sol, yoga em lugares bonitos, conhecer pessoas incríveis, risadas e conversas profundas, caminhadas na montanha, celebrações locais, jantares em família, intercâmbios de habilidades, dirigir pelo lado direito pela primeira vez, aulas de dança e experimentar coisas novas.. Estou indo embora com um coração agradecido <3

I had such a great time at the hostel. I met so many cool people. I was invited to teach yoga for them for three months. I spent 2 and a half months at their La Gomera location and just over two weeks at their Tenerife location. La Gomera provided a more relaxed house with an incredible location close to the beach and mountains. The Tenerife location was a much more sociable house with more reliance on transportation.

My experience volunteering in the hostel in La Gomera has been of the best choices I've ever made. It was my first time as a volunteer, I was a little bit anxious, but Rebeca and Maria (the hosts) are amazing. Not only they're really nice but they're also patient people, very flexible about everything you need. Everything you agreed on when you talked with them, is exactly what you will do and get. The hostel and the island in general are really nice, and I had enough time to explore and enjoy everything I wanted. Definitely recommend! Thank you for this amazing experience<3

I had a good time on La Gomera, as I helped turn a hostel into a Coliving space😊 Doing tasks like painting, renovating, and later help with house maintenance and community activities. Despite still being in its early stages, the place is steadily improving and has an ideal location in the heart of the old town, just a five-minute walk from the beach. Rebecca, the manager, and Maria, the host, put in an effort to ensure the best experience and Rebecca's local knowledge integrates you into the culture ☺️🇮🇨 I'd definitely recommend it if you want a peaceful getaway with a taste of Gomeran life 🌴🌿

My volunteering experience at cactus coliving was amazing ! The host and the other volunteers over time felt like family ,i felt welcomed the second I got here :) The work was as described and the communication with Maria was open and honest . In our free time we did little trips around the island ,also here Maria had some recommendations for where to go, and she was supportive in answering questions ,even in her free time . I would totally recommend this experience and i would love to come back one day !🫶🏽

I had a truly great experience working at the Cactus Coliving, everything was like the job posting described. Maria the host was very welcoming, reasonable and honest to everyone. The jobs are pretty straight forward, I did lots of painting, sanding, assembling furniture, small repairs and cleaning up. I met a lot of amazing people and I was able to explore so much of the island, as well as experience the lifestyle of the Canary Islands. Lots of culture on the island and the food was top notch. I wasn't even trying to learn Spanish and still learnt a lot. Definitely coming back one day!

I had a great time in the hostel Coliving of San Sebastian. Gomera is the perfect place if you like hiking, search for calm nature and want to have a lovcal experience in San Sebastian. During my stay we were 3 volunteers and got a food budget of 50€. The tasks are easy and exactly like comunicated. I met amazing people and Rebeca the host created a place to feel like home :).

I stayed at the hostel for 4 weeks in November-December and had a lovely time. Since it was the "reconstruction" state of the Hostel, I did a lot of painting, sanding and general work around the house. Furthermore, I stayed in a room with another female volonteer, whereas the common rooms (gender separated) will be ready in a short period of time. Maria and Rebecca are very caring and fun to be around, showing us (me and the other 3 volonteers at the time) around the Island a bit and integrated us in the local culture with food recipes and fun facts. Thanks for having me!!
