I'm very happy that I volunteered at HTB. Glenn is a great host, very positive and energetic. He showed me interesting things about the hostel and took me to places like Beverley and Bempton. I experienced the Sesh Festival, rode in his cool van, and watched rugby for the first time. The tasks include welcoming guests, organizing beds, and helping with cleaning and laundry. Glenn was always helpful whenever I didn't understand something. the hostel is so beautiful, with museums and parks that made me feel at home. The Marina Docks was my favourite place. I highly recommend this host to other volunteers.😊

I worked with Glenn at the hostel for around 5 and a half weeks! It was a good experience with Glenn and the other volunteer, Joe, being very friendly. The work itself isn't very hard, as it's only a small hostel, so there aren't many beds or bathrooms to clean each day. In terms of admin/reception, it's very simple and anyone can learn it quickly! Glenn was very helpful in showing me around the local area, and the next town over. I spent my time there bunking in the female dorm. I would work here again. :) see you guys around!! Glenn is a really great host, super positive even under stressful situations. From Sunday evening to Thursday morning I was in charge as he lives an hour away, I called him a couple of times when some of the guests requested room changes but he was quick to respond. The hostel itself, the hostel, is located in the heart of the cities old town, which is useful because there are many shops and markets close by. I also had a private room which was comfortable, I still used ear plugs though for the noise of the city. I shared the wash facilities, toilet and kitchenette.
