I volunteered with EVP in 2019 just for 3 or 4 days but knew that if I had the opportunity to ever work with them again that I wanted to do so. EVP is the only the shelter sanctuary of its kind in Cambodia which works closely with local Bunong (employing over 40 of them!) and promoting observation only interactions with elephants. Over the 2 weeks that I volunteered with EVP, I was able to get to know local guides, go on 14 the shelter treks/ 2 waterfall treks, as well as contribute by aiding with the shelter health checks and by planting and reforesting sections of the forest. Can't wait to be back!
