My time at the hostel was truly epic :) The staff, the guests, the locals and the whole atmosphere in Arugam Bay made my experience incredible. The job as a social host is really chill, basically just hanging out with the guests and planning activities that are of interest to everyone. I really hope to return, thank you<3333

I had an amazing stay at the hostel in Hiriketiya. What really made the experience special were the hosts and staff, who were incredibly welcoming, kind, and genuine from the moment I arrived. They created an atmosphere that felt warm and inclusive! All tasks for the volunteers were clear and nothing was sugar coated. The energy throughout the hostel was one of the highlights of my stay. Everyone from the staff to the other travelers brought such positive vibes. It's the kind of place where connections happen naturally! Thank you the hostel Family🫶

I had a really nice experience volunteering here The project gives a great opportunity to experience Sri Lanka, meet travelers from all over the world, help with the local community and enjoy the area I especially loved the mornings at the school, the sunsets and the overall atmosphere of the place. I volunteered at this hostel and had a really great experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to meet new people, make meaningful connections, and gain lots of new experiences. I stayed one month in the hostel Hannocks in Hiriketiya, volunteering as a social host. It has been fun but most importantly has taught me several things. The closeness I got with being in close touch to the hostel family has enabled me to to get a local experience that is hardly obtainable anywhere else. Workload has been more than fair and extremely flexible, with numerous perks that were already specified on the platform. What impressed me the most was the attention towards social aspects such as animal care, children education, sustainability, etc. creating a meaningful experienceI

If you have the opportunity to come here I highly recommend you do ! I volunteered at multiple locations which were awesome and the staff became friends , not just colleagues. the hostel is one of the most social hostels I've stayed in without being party focused. The lifestyle balance is great and there's always stuff do and people to hang out with, yet you still have time for yourself. The responsibilities are relaxed and work around your schedule. It's really up to you to create the vibes of the hostel and for the right person (extrovert) this is a dream job !

The hostel is just the best hostel ever! So sociable and fun, and the 'work' is also really fun! Tara makes you feel really welcome and my 2 weeks here were the most fun I had out of the whole time I was in Sri Lanka! Great for solo travellers

Had such an amazing time volunteering here. What was supposed to be just one month quickly turned into a longer stay (wasn't ready to leave this place!!). The hostel felt like a home almost immediately. It's quite small, which makes it super easy to get to know everyone, and it creates more of a shared house/family vibe rather than just a typical hostel atmosphere. The workload is also very fair compared to the free time you get. Some days are a bit busier, others more relaxed, but overall it almost never feels like „work“ in the traditional sense. Everybody was lovely, would 100% recommend!

Helping out at the hostel has be one of my favourite roles so far, I've made so many friends and all the staff where so fun and friendly! The work wasn't too draining and had lots of time to move around and do our own things too, I'm gunna miss you all and hope to see you again. Highly recommend the hostel.
