If you want to have a real Peruvian experience this is the place. Work hours are easy: working in the morning and you get your afternoon off. Perfect for hiking to the Lagunas near the house. Nelson is a really nice person, always willing to help you for both organisation of the following days but also to know the surroundings. Unfortunately he was usually working at another place and I was under his mother's charge. Even if they are thankful to you for what you did, I had the impression that they don't really need your help and that they're doing this for having another source of income.

It's an interesting experience. More like an accommodation with a cultural exchange I'd say. It's a big nice family, everyone has many things to do and sometimes you can help them and interact. You won't have an actual schedule it just depends on what is happening that day. It can be a advantage because there is so many trekkings to do around. You will be under a local family rules in all terms, food, manners, showers… everything. You will learn a lot :)

Fue una experiencia enriquecedora a nivel personal y social. Más que un voluntariado fue una inmersión total en la vida de una familia Peruana. Ayudamos con fotos y videos para las redes sociales. Lugar muy humilde sin lujos, se come lo que la familia come. Además tuve la mala suerte que el calentador no funcionaba y no había agua caliente, así que tuvimos que calentar agua para poder ducharnos). Tuve un poco de frío por la noche, pero eso es porque parece que este año está haciendo bastante más frío que otros años. Por lo demás bien.

Nelson es una gran persona y un gran conversador. La familia es acogedora. Se aprende mucho hablando con cada uno de ellos y personalmente tuve la fortuna de compartir experiencias y cosmovisiones andinas que hizo de mi estadía allí, una experiencia inolvidable. En el corto tiempo que estuve no hubo muchas tareas que realizar. Siento que no necesitan tanto la ayuda en las tareas de la chakra. ¡Muchos éxitos!

They're basically doing it for the money, the family didn't need help with anything really. Mostly I just had to follow the mother around, and not getting any instructions on what to do. One day I had the task of picking up trash from the property other people had thrown there. I didn't get gloves or anything, and among the trash were used diapers and broken glass. The also had a lot of plastic in their garden, which they had thrown there themselves, which really wasn't nice. When the llamas misbehaved they threw rocks on them. Choose another place to stay.

La familia es muy amable, acogedora y dispuestos a colaborar. Realmente tuve una inmersion en la cultura local y tiempo de conexión con la naturaleza. Recomiendo aclarar las tareas y horas previamente para tener mayor claridad de expectativas y tiempos. De resto muy recomendado

Somos dos chicas que tuvimos una experiencia muy agradable con esta familia. Una familia muy acogedora y con muy buena energia. Comidas tipicas de la sierra de Perú. Nos enseñaron hacer muchas tareas que nunca hemos realizado, de una manera divertida.Las vistas impresionantes.

The el alojamientois incredible, it has excellent landscapes, the city is beautiful and the best thing was the kind treatment of Nelson who was always willing to follow up on our work , highly recommended, 5 stars. el alojamientoes increible , tiene excelentes paisajes , la ciudad es hermosa y lo mejor fue el trato amable de Nelson que siempre estuvo dispuesto a hacer seguimiento a nuestras labores a realizar , la comida que servian fue genial , nutritiva y sana, la familia muy acogedora , fue excelente para aprender, dar lo mejor de uno y conocer a amigos del Perú y del mundo, recomendado 5 estrellas.
