Ich habe diese Erfahrung geliebt, Arran ist eine schöne Insel zum Erkunden, es gibt dort viel mehr zu sehen und zu tun, als ich dachte, wie viele Wanderungen und Gemeinschaftsveranstaltungen! Das Haus hat eine erstaunliche Aussicht und liegt in Laufnähe zu Naturwanderwegen, Badestellen am Strand, einer Bushaltestelle, Supermarkt und einigen guten Pubs. Andrew ist viel gereist und hat viele Geschichten zu erzählen über seine internationalen Reisen und Schottland, daher ist er ein sehr gastfreundlicher Gastgeber; ich habe mich schnell wie zu Hause gefühlt. Er ist auch ein guter Schachgegner! Die Arbeitsaufgaben variieren von Tag zu Tag; Mir hat es gefallen, die Airbnb-Gäste kennenzulernen und meine Gartenfähigkeiten zu verbessern.

Ich hatte eine unglaublich tolle Zeit beim Freiwilligendienst in Cochno. Andrew ist so freundlich und kenntnisreich. Mir hat es wirklich Spaß gemacht, mit ihm an Projekten zu arbeiten, wie dem Bau der Trockenmauer. Jede Aufgabe fühlte sich an, als würde ich eine neue Fähigkeit erlernen. Andrew hat mir außerdem viele fantastische Wanderwege rund um Arran gezeigt und hatte großartige Tipps für meine freien Tage. Meine drei Wochen hier verflogen, und ich vermisse Arran schon jetzt. Es ist ein wunderschöner Ort, mit vielen Möglichkeiten, sich zu engagieren. Mir hat es wirklich gefallen, die Kochaufgaben zu teilen und Andrew und Petra kennenzulernen. Sie waren vom Moment meiner Ankunft an so herzlich. Ich würde in Zukunft gerne zurückkommen.

My stay in the home during my volunteering with Andrew has been the most meaningful experience of my life. Arran is a wonderful and beautiful island where you can connect with nature, and from the moment I set foot in Lamlash, I have always felt at home. Andrew has been the best host I could have had! He is a fun, open-minded, understanding person who is always willing to help you with any questions you may have. The relationship with Andrew goes beyond host/volunteer; it is a friendship. Tasks include cleaning the rooms, maintaining the house and gardening. Arran is a 100% recommendable!

If you want an authentic taste of Scottish life, I highly recommend visiting the Isle of Arran. Andrew is a warm and welcoming host. During my stay, I helped in the community garden and learned about COAST, a local grassroots NGO focused on marine conservation. A was very flexible when I needed to work remotely and adjusted the schedule to suit us both. I also helped with housekeeping, painting, and some outdoor tasks—even tree pruning. The island's stunning coastlines and forests left a deep impression. Living here for a month was an honour, and I gained a richer understanding of Scotland.

My 3 months with Andrew was like living with my best friend in a magical place. Between laughter, traditional dances, good food, and beautiful views. Andrew is a very kind, friendly person and will always make you have a good time in his house.The tasks are very simple and he is always willing to help and explain everything. The island of Arran is beautiful, you never get tired of exploring it. My English is basic, but Andrew helped me improve it, he practiced with me every day. I met his girlfriend Petra, she is fabulous. They are a perfect duo to make you feel at home! I absolutely recommend

My experience in this volunteering was truly amazing. Andrew is a very kind and charismatic person, and during free time, we took advantage of going on hikes around the island since he knows some beautiful trails. If you want to connect with nature, this is the ideal place. Regarding the tasks, they were quite varied, whether it was gardening, cleaning, chopping wood, painting, and more. I learned a lot here; I would do it again. I got to meet his wife and several friends; everyone was very kind to me during this time. I will cherish fond memories of this place.
