I had almost no idea of gardening before I came to the Center – which was no problem, because the inhabitants of the community showed my all I had to know. I had a very warm welcoming by the other volunteers and community inhabitants. Lovely people I had a bunch of interesting conversations with. It was my first time living in a spiritual community with all the yoga and some rituals. Very inspiring! Single thing to criticize are the prices for laundry and pick up – not what I expected for volunteering. Nevertheless: Stjärnsund is a incredibly lively village surrounded by beautiful nature!

Göran kam mit offener Haltung an und war bereit, alles über Gartenarbeit zu lernen. Er verbrachte so viel Zeit im Garten, die Hände in der Erde, sogar am Wochenende und an freien Tagen – er hat sich wirklich hineingesteigert und seine grünen Fähigkeiten weiterentwickelt. Wir wurden von seiner Initiative inspiriert, nach draußen zu gehen und die Umgebung zu erkunden, lange Wanderungen zu unternehmen, ja sogar den nahegelegenen See zu umrunden. Er nahm sich immer Zeit, die Natur um ihn herum zu schätzen und zu genießen. Vielen Dank für deine ganze Hilfe.

Here's some background: Annoyed American who began to dislike his job wanted to travel. Friend who uses Worldpackers refers me, and I find out about the Center. Never would I have imagined I'd make friends from 4 of the 7 continents and 8 countries, get very good at video editing, experience the Swedish countryside, and overall feel myself come out of my shell I had created for the last few years. You're helping a great cause and great people, who also want the absolute best for all their volunteers. Once in a lifetime opportunity that truly made me a more patient and understanding person.

Noah ist aus den USA gekommen, um drei Wochen bei uns zu bleiben. Wir waren so froh, ihm eine andere Lebensweise näherzubringen, in der er sich verlangsamen und die kleinen Dinge genießen konnte. Er war allen gegenüber engagiert und freundlich. Er hat die anderen Freiwilligen mit einem echten amerikanischen Thanksgiving-Fest verwöhnt! Danke, Noah. Genieße deine nächsten Abenteuer!

My experience at the Center was incredible. It is such a welcoming and heartwarming place. I got to meet so many amazing people, my fellow volunteers and roommates who have become like family to me as well as the wonderful community members around us who have been unbelievably kind and supportive. I am beyond grateful for the memories I made and most importantly for the people I had the privilege to get to know and that I got to experience all the little adventures with. I couldn't ask for a better volunteering experience. I miss you all and I will definitely be back!! <3

Luzie fand ihren Weg direkt in die Freiwilligenfamilie. Sie war bekannt für ihre tägliche Frage "Wie war dein Tag?", und eröffnete damit Raum, damit sich jeder verbinden konnte. Sie knüpfte während ihres Besuchs tiefe Freundschaften, mit offenem Herzen und der Bereitschaft, jeden kennenzulernen. Sie war eine große Hilfe im Garten und begeistert davon, für unsere Montags-Treffen zu kochen. Danke, Luzie!

The Center wasn't just a volunteering experience. In this little swedish village I found people for life, people to cry, laugh and argue with. People who will be forever in my heart. This place is so so much more than this World packer entry could ever put into words. I am already looking forward to come back to everyone and feel all the warmth again.

Wir hätten Charlie fast verpasst und sind sehr froh, dass sie ihre Pläne ein zweites Mal geändert hat, um Zeit mit uns zu verbringen. Sie stürzte sich in eine verrückte Gruppe von Freiwilligen mit einer positiven Einstellung und fand sich schnell wie zu Hause in der Gruppe. Sie brachte viele verschiedene Fähigkeiten mit und stürzte sich auf das Bauen und Reparieren. Sie war eine große Hilfe beim Reinigen und Ordnen einiger chaotischer Räume, wofür wir sehr dankbar sind! Charlie war von den Kindern des Dorfes sehr geliebt, und wir freuen uns darauf, sie wieder willkommen zu heißen! Danke

In just a few weeks, the people around me became a family. Everything you give to improve this place will be reflected back on you with a lot of love. So much that you'll remember it for the rest of your life. I leave with a heavy heart but with happiness. So many names that I would like to thank but I don't have enough space. They will recognise themselves :) Thank you so much, from the depths of my being. You can be sure, I will come back !

Guillem und Marius sind ein Traumpaar voller Liebe und Freundschaft, das das Freiwilligenwohnheim jeden Tag mit Wärme erfüllt hat (so habe ich gehört!). Es ist einfach, ihre Gesellschaft zu genießen. Große Wertschätzung für die Zeit und die Fürsorge, die Guillem allem widmete und wozu er uns geholfen hat. Bei so vielen Gelegenheiten hielt er inne, um zu helfen, selbst wenn seine Freiwilligenstunden vorbei waren, und er sagte sogar, er genoss es einfach. Viel Herz und Geist. Wir werden sie beide sehr vermissen. Danke!

I had a great time at the Center. I met some wonderful people and everyone has been so kind to me, contributing to an experience I will never forget. The schedule is very flexible and everyone is open minded about différents ideas, which is very pleasant. I strongly recommend this place !

Marius kam mit seinem Freund Guillem zu uns... sie waren einfach fantastisch und sind in der Tat noch hier, weil sie beschlossen haben, länger zu bleiben. Sie sind echte Profis, wenn es um ihre Kunst geht: Filmemachen. Sie bringen so viel Kreativität, Humor und Verspieltheit in die Gruppe und sind gleichzeitig zutiefst ehrlich und teilen aus dem Herzen. Marius, wie ein anderer Freiwilliger anmerkte, ist sehr intelligent. Freundliche Seelen. Wärmstens zu empfehlen.

Had the best time of my life in Stjärnsund. I met some amazing people that will always be in my heart. I had the chance to reconnect with nature and myself, taking walks to lake and exploring. We had a pizza night, campfires, slept in the forest, watched the stars on the pier. The work hours are really flexible and you can manage yourself. I helped with the marketing, but also helped with some physical work as harvesting potatoes and beets, taping windows, raking the leaves and shoveling. Every monday there is a community meeting where everyone shares their thoughts and it's heartwarming 🫶🏻

Nicole kam voller Energie an und hat sich wirklich in ihre Rolle eingefunden und die Führung übernommen. Nicole fühlte sich mit allen verbunden und fühlte sich sofort wie zu Hause. Sie schätzte die Natur, die Menschen und all das, was dieses Dorf zu bieten hat. Sie war in der Lage, mit allen zu kooperieren und Teil der Schaffung eines positiven Umfelds zu sein. Wir freuen uns darauf, dass Nicole im November zurückkommt, um ihre Arbeit fortzusetzen :) Ihr Enthusiasmus und ihr Humor werden immer geschätzt.

I really want to thank you for having me. the Center is just such a special place, truly like you can't find anywhere else. Everyone was welcoming and kind. Also, it was really nice to see how well everyone living there took care of each other. The work was really diversified and could be individual to your strengths. During my stay, it was mostly repairing windows and work outside in the garden. I especially loved, how surrounded by nature Stjärnsund is. You should definitely go for a swim in the lake or a walk through the forest. I can surely recommend traveling there :)

Pia ist sehr mutig. Sie besucht uns als ihre erste Reiseerfahrung, alleine zu reisen. Pia ist klug und kreativ und hat ein schönes Design für ein neues Gartenschild entworfen, einschließlich ihrer von Hand gemalten Details. Danke, Pia :)

Hi everyone, I spent two weeks in Fredhem, it was the best ever. I felt like home and the hospitality of the people is wonderful, Kels and the community have opened the door to me making me feel in the right place, I was looking for a place with my own values and Fredhem has them all. I met fantastic people with here I share my short stay, with whom I worked and practiced many wonderful activities, known their culture and language, I really enjoyed the unspoilt nature of Sweden and met other volunteers from different places, it was an experience to do again.. Thank you very much for having me

Irene war durch ihre energetische Persönlichkeit eine enorme Bereicherung und gab uns so viel mit ihren Tanzstunden, ihrer Wertschätzung des friedlichen Lebens hier und ihrer warmen Begrüßung. Wir sind sehr dankbar, dass sie so viel Energie hatte, ihren Tanzunterricht in so vielen verschiedenen Stilen zu teilen, und wünschen uns nur, dass ihr Besuch länger gedauert hätte.

The Center is a magical place, with all the nature around, lakes and forests, the peace and sense of freedom, and meeting kind and fun volunteers made it an incredible experience🌸 What I take with me most is undoubtedly the wonderful people I met, from the kids to the elders, they made me feel at home and were like a hug to my heart. And I was lucky to have Kelsey around, with her bright energy, pure heart, empathy and humor! ✨ As for the tasks, they were renovating and painting windows, working outside with the grass and helping with a variety of things. I learnt a lot, and I will come back :)

Maria brachte das Licht mit sich. Sie lächelte jedes Mal, wenn wir uns trafen. Sie knüpfte starke Verbindungen zu den Einheimischen, zu den Kindern und zur Natur in der Umgebung. Maria stürzte sich in ihre Aufgaben und bewältigte einige sehr anspruchsvolle Fensterrestaurierungen.
Wir sind ihr für ihre Zeit sehr dankbar und freuen uns darauf, dass sie im November zu Besuch kommt!
