I had a great time volunteering in Aoshima! The working hours were really easy and flexible, leaving me plenty of time to explore and relax. The beach was just a short walk away so you can go for a swim or surf in your free time! There’s also a lot of cafes and restaurants where I enjoyed delicious local dishes. Thank you Toshi and Fuu for having me!

Lovely time volunteering in Aoshima. The hosts (Toshi and Foo) are very easy-going, friendly, and helpful. The work itself is straightforward and goes by quick (about 2 hours or so per day).
During my time in Aoshima I loved riding my bike along the beach to the gym, swimming and surfing in the ocean, exploring local festivals, watching surf films & movies with the other volunteers, + more.
It’s a little bit of a walk down the beach to get to where the waves are bigger/better. But that’s really fine. I recommend this experience!!

Volunteering in Aoshima was absolutely amazing! The work hours were super chill so everyday there was a lot of free time to relax, surf and hang out with other volunteers. The place itself is amazing: there are a lot of cute cafes and restaurants with great food. The beach is only 2 minutes away so it's possible to go swimming and surfing any time. Toshi is also a great host who is always ready to help. Highly recommend this place!

Working and staying in Aoshima was a great experience! The job is easy and you have a lot of free time. The best part is that you can surf everyday :) They have softboards (long and short) and longboards.
In Aoshima there's not a lot of stuff to do, so I would only recommend the place to people who likes nature and surfing. However you can just take the traing and go to Miyazaki if you want to go shopping or party.
Also I felt really confortable with all the team!

I had a really great time in aoshima guesthouse👍
Generally, the working hours are very fair which was really nice because we generally did around 1h a day. The people there are the best and you will meet around maybe 4-5 other volunteer’s at a time. There are also cleaning days for everyone which is important. But to be fair the kitchen got a bit empty when i was there because theres no more microwave and big toaster because the house circuit couldnt handle. Also the kitchen is a bit dirty and the pans old but it still ok. Sleeping rooms and common room have ac which is very very good.
