We have been getting helpers now for awhile, and our progress in getting back on our feet after Cyclone damage is going well.We usually have a wide range of tasks on our list to do as living in the nature naturally means there are always things to do. Non judgemental Helpers who want to experience something different preferred. As Winter is now here, there is a recycling project of one of our Cyclone damaged cars, if this interest you ?- then you are most welcome at this time. There is always maintenance to do around the gardens & forest.

Helpers usually stay from one week to three weeks depending on their travel plans, tasks on our list, skills and how you take to living in the Nature and the weather.
Helpers have double or queen beds to sleep in. The Internet is available.

My experience with Mike was positive; I was surrounded by trees I had never seen before, such as jackfruit and mango. I recommend arriving in January for fruit lovers—and for the chance to see incredible animals; for an Italian, it was all completely new. Mike doesn't like cooking, preferring ready-made meals, but as a volunteer, you have to adapt—and if you're a picky eater, the supermarket is an hour's walk away.

Hard manual labor in the forest, but well rewarding and fun. Gained a good understanding of how to maintain a big property and how to cut trees the right way to help them grow better. Mike respected the hours of work and there is a big indoor pool to cool off after the hard work is done. There would have been frozen meals provided but we decided to cook our own. Great first experience with WorldPackers for us.

I loved my stay! Mike shares so much knowledge about the area and the surrounding forest, and you can really see how passionate he is about the wildlife and the work he does to protect and care for it. The work is very fair, and while the food is basic, you have everything you need and can definitely make it work if you're a little creative! The lagoon is stunning and would be especially amazing to enjoy during the warmer months. I would definitely recommend this experience to solo travelers or couples looking for a peaceful place to slow down and take a break from travelling.
