We already have the highest rated hostel in Edinburgh under our belt, now we're growing! Housed in a converted courthouse and jail, our new pod hostel, right on the Royal Mile in the heart of the Old Town, is now open and we need your help to welcome our guests and keep it sparkling clean. As all our beds are brand new and rooms newly refurbished, cleaning is a doddle. We'll give you a cosy Pod in a shared room, as well as breakfast- We serve freshly made waffles every day!
We have a friendly full time staff of 10 and usually around 4-8 volunteers staying with us at a time, so there's always somebody to hang out with!

I had such a fantastic time here!! The staff and other volunteers become family so quickly. The schedules are given in advance and the agreed hours are respected. Having the privacy of pod beds is nice, the breakfast waffles were yummy, and the hostel activities were a good way to make friends. I felt very comfortable as a female solo traveler & would recommend working here to anyone: :))

Code it's absolutely the best. The place is amazing, clean, and organized.
The paid staff are the best, all the managers are super nice, and you feel at home.
The hostel also has a lot of activities and events, most of which, the volunteers can join for free.
The working hours are really nice, you get three days off so you can explore a lot around.
Edinburgh is a beautiful city, with a lot of things to do, and also can travel around the country.
I highly recommend coming to Edinburgh, especially to the code, they are the best.

CoDE is a really nice place to volunteer and you feel at home since the first time you get there. All the staffs and managers are super friendly and even the guests are nice too. They hours and the job are fair and you never work alone. Edinburgh is a really tourist city and the hostel is in the Old Town, so there's no way you're not gonna have fun there, especially because they have some events at the hostel. I totally recommend this experience :)

This is my first volunteering experience, and it was the best I could have had, I don't regret having chosen Code as my first option. Declan and Ile are great, they make you feel at home, and being able to share this experience in Edinburgh with other volunteers and staff felt very comfortable from minute one, little by little you become part of the family. I loved every second I was there, I would definitely do it again.

Loved my time at CoDE! The hours were definitely fair and respected and we were able to organise time off for events or weekend trips! The hostel facilities are stunning! Everything is super clean and the full time staff are great! There’s not a huge area to chill out which is a shame but I still meet a lot of travellers as I worked at reception! Edinburgh itself is stunning too, and there’s heaps of day trips to do that get you out in nature! The volunteers room is a bit stuffy as there’s no window but the people your living with make up for it! You’ll meet friends for life! I’ll be back!! 😍
