Gaarawe

This village was born from a dream of two friends.
We have some wonderful itineraries of uncommon places to visit: caves, waterfalls, trekking, canoeing, big tree, fascinating temples, hot springs, the largest dam, and our beautiful river where we cool, we swim, and fishing.
Walking in the forest, in January, the Rataflesia , a flower, the largest in the world that was born only here.
This is the most primitive forest of the planet

Volunteers and residents live under the same conditions together as we prepare the day's program. Every day we dedicate ourselves to routine maintenance: we feed the chickens and the dogs, water the garden and collect fruit and vegetables to eat together. Sometimes we make jams or canned fruit for our breakfast.

I had an amazing stay at the village! I made some great friends during my time there and also met many locals and experienced Thai culture.

There is always work to be done, however, the work is self-driven and you won’t be working in bad weather. Lele was very understanding if we wanted a day off to go to Khao Sok or anywhere else.

The food was delicious and healthy. Fruits, veggies, and eggs were all from the farm. He cooked a mix of Italian and Thai food.

The village is in the jungle so bring long pants and shirts, and bug spray!

one mont and a half in Gaarawe and I highly recommend to everyone this experience. You’ll learn about permaculture and you’ll be surrounded by nature every time. There are a lot of different tasks to do in the village so you will always have something to do, it’s hard working with the sun but it’s completely worth it, seeing how the village is improving
Lele is an amazing chef (you’re gonna try the best pineapples ever and the best pumpkin cream ever) and all the people I met in the village made my stance much better. They are amazing everyone

¡¡Bring enough mosquito repellent!!

Mangiareeeeeeeee! Spending a month in the middle of nature, working with people committed to the same purpose and learning about permaculture with Lele, was essential to make my experience even richer. The village is located in a relatively isolated region, but you will never feel alone if you are open to making new friends. The work is intense, as it is not a summer camp. So, if you are thinking of applying for this volunteer role, be aware that you will need to have a lot of energy. I already miss the wonderful food prepared by our Italian chef. I strongly recommend this place!
