Guest House in Hiroshima, Japan

Hiroshima is a great place to start to become familiar with Japanese language, customs and marvels. People who live in Hiroshima are one of the most friendly people in Japan, they love to communicate with foreign people from all over the world. Some local people often stop at our hostel and talk to the guests. It's really common to exchange culture in Hiroshima! Type of help: We are looking for volunteers that can stay a minimum of one month or longer Cleaning is around approximately 2 - 3 hours a day, 4 days a week. FYI, If you are planning to stay longer than one month, paid work is also available :) Please reach out! Reception work (for long stay volunteers) would be about 3-4 hours a day, 5 days per week! *PLEASE NOTE that if you have a Tourist visa you will not be able to join us. Let us know if you have a Working Holiday Visa, a Working visa or a Student visa since these will allow you to work legally in Japan.

We are always welcome for new members to our team! We stay, work, and often eat together. If you are a person who loves to socialize with new people from all over the world, here is the best place :) Santiago Guesthouse has branches in Kyoto and Naha(Okinawa). Volunteers with experience in the Santiago group can be given priority. Would you like to visit three popular cities in Japan.

Great guesthouse and a nice group of fellow volunteers. The work is very doable and you have plenty of spare time to go around the city and its surroundings!

My time at Santiago in Hiroshima was great!! All my fellow staff were amazing people and I felt at home right from the beginning. It is a very nice Hostel and there is always something going on in the common area. The tasks were very easy and usually didn't take longer than 2 hours per day, 3 days per week!

From the very first day that I walked into the Guesthouse, everyone made me feel right at home! The working hours were very flexible which gave me more than enough time to chill out, explore and enjoy life. The owner of this Guesthouse (Masa) is very a friendly and kind hearted man who cares alot about the welfare of his helpers/staff. By working at this hostel, I was able to make alot of friends from many different backgrounds which was a big highlight! Overall, it was such a pleasure to be able to work at Santiago Guest House, and I would definitely recommend this experience to everyone!!

Although I only stayed here 2 and a half weeks, I felt really welcomed by everyone at Santiago. The work is very easy (I did just 3 hours a week) and in return I got to explore so much of Hiroshima and spend lots of time with both volunteers and guests. I would have loved to have stayed longer, and would highly recommend this experience overall :)

I had a fantastic time at Santiago Hiroshima. Everyone was so welcoming and it felt like home from day one. I was able to meet and chat with many locals and travellers during my stay. It was a great experience to explore and live in such a historic city. Im happy for every interaction i had and what I've learnt about hospitality will be a great asset. Thank you everyone!
