Hostel & Bar De Basis
We’re a very relaxed and laidback hostel (not a party hostel). Everything is clean and neat. We have a cozy bar/restaurant on the first floor.
We have an amazing staff already! At De Basis and Bennies (the restaurant) work about 30-40 people. You’ll get a discount at the bar for your drinks, join us for parties now and then. We treat each other with respect and we’re one big family :)
We welcome travelers and volunteers who are here for an unforgettable experience, socialising with others, learning new things and are eager to explore new places around the Netherlands. Unfortunately we don't look for volunteers who have a job at the same time as they are volunteering.

I had the best time at the hostel and can really recommend going there! It was my first volunteering experience and for that there couldn't have been a better place! I got to know so many kind new people. The hours were exactly as communicated and the tasks were more than alright! I had a really great time in Zwolle! ☺️

My experience at the hostel was great. Staff at the hostel & restaurant were kind and welcoming from the first day. Other volunteers were also nice and it was so fun to meet them all. I totally recommend this experience, you will meet amazing people and explore a beautiful city.

I absolutely loved my stay! Everyone at both the hostel and Bennies was amazing, welcoming, and always willing to help. I really appreciated how spacious the volunteer room was, and the food at Bennies was delicious. Whenever I had any problems or needed help with something, they always did their best to find a solution and make sure I was okay. I'm truly grateful for all their support and kindness. I had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend this place to anyone considering volunteering or staying there. Thank you all for making my stay so special! ❤️

I had the most wonderful stay here in September!! From day one, the staff and the other volunteers made me feel so welcome and appreciated. I worked the night shifts, and I would say that the tasks were quite easy to complete. If I had any questions, there was always someone ready to help me. My experience in Zwolle has also been great. There is always something going on in the city, so you do not have to travel far to immerse yourself in the culture. The overall atmosphere and the people I met here were genuinely amazing, so I would definitely recommend this opportunity to others!!
