ITH Beach Bungalow Surf Hostel

When you do a cultural exchange at the ITH Beach Bungalow, you join the ITH family! We all work together to make our hostel the best it can be while experiencing the amazing San Diego beach life! We are located OCEAN FRONT in Pacific Beach- a bustling young beach town in San Diego. We've got an awesome front deck overlooking the beach and ocean where you can always find a friend to hang with :) We aim to make every person who walks into the hostel feel like family and have the best experience possible!!!

Here at the ITH Beach Bungalow, we operate as a big family. We all work hard on housekeeping and reception (25 hours per person per week) plus hosting awesome activities for the guests and family style meals throughout the week. We all take turns hosting 1 evening social activity and 1 meal every week. We expect our cultural exchange members to meet and greet every single person they see in the hostel. This is a very social and interactive environment so if saying hello to every person you see in the hostel doesn't sound awesome then this is not the place for you. You will constantly be surrounded by awesome people looking to make life long friends! We are here to give the guests the best experience of San Diego possible! Luckily our ocean front location makes this incredibly easy! We are all about the California beach vibes here! You can always find someone hanging on the deck, probably sipping a beer and chatting it up with everybody! We offer surf lessons on the weekends, plus amazing adventure activities (hikes, bike tours, paddle boarding tours, +more) every single day! The adventure activities are either entirely free or very very cheap (no more than $15). In addition to our awesome day time activities, we host evening social activities every night! These include $1 drinks in downtown, pub crawls, beer pong nights, costume parties, +more. Our night time social activities are hosted by our cultural exchange members. To make an awesome night activity, you'll need to be talking it up to everyone at the hostel! Get everyone excited about your awesome activity that's happening that night :) We love HELPFUL people! There's always something to do here at the hostel. Lending us a helping hand means the world- when you are on or off shift! In exchange for 25 hours of housekeeping/reception, 1 night time activity and 1 family meal, you'll receive complimentary accommodation in our "family member's" room with an en suite bathroom just for family members. You'll have access to our complimentary breakfast everyday. In addition to that, you are welcome to all of our daily and nightly activities for FREE (except when we have to pay for rentals or transport, never more than $15). And the best part? You get to make AMAZING life long friends and experiences along the way :) ***REQUIREMENTS*** Must be at least 21 years old, Experienced with hostels/shared accommodations, No couples/groups, solo travelers only!!! Must stay at least 2 months!!
