Keiraleagh House- Wollongong Backpackers
The hostel is situated very close to some of Australia's best surfing beaches. There are many beaches within a few minutes walk, as well as a fishing harbour and 2 lighthouses . There is a bike and walking track that runs for many kilometres along the beach front, for your outdoor entertainment. We are also very close to many bush walking tracks.
The hostel is situated right in the middle of town where there is a great café and bar culture , as well as many night spots. We have a very bohemian, bali-inspired hostel. The hostel is in a lovely heritage house which is eco friendly. We are solar powered and have a lovely back garden to chillout in.
The hostel has been mostly family run, but we are now needing other staff. I have owned the hostel for 25 years and live on the premises . Volunteers will be welcomed into our extended family

It was an amazing experience ! At the beginning I was asking me why am I staying so long because the city isn’t the most animated, there isn’t a lot of activity, but day by day I found a family, this hostel is really peaceful and friendly, common area are amazing to meet people, and the job help us to connect to each other. (We haven’t 2 days off just 1) but the work is okay. All together we created a lot of activity, things to do, hike, beach, music, game, party.. it was sooo hard to leave this amazing place cause you really meet people and live with them for a long.

My experience at keiraleagh house was incredible. The work and hours are fair, the host is super flexible with other work schedules, and the people and atmosphere are amazing. 10/10 reccomend this place, hope to be back soon!

My experience at Keiraleagh House was amazing. The vibes at the hostel are unmatched and this is down to Kerry's brilliant décor, wooden furniture imported from Bali and a garden full of plants, it feels as if you are in your own tropical oasis.
I was working at a bar down the road, and they were always really flexible with my hours, I knew I could balance both hostel work and hospitality work, which made it really easy to get into a routine. I ended up extending my stay, just like many of my friends, I could not recommend this hostel enough!

I really recommend Keiraleagh House for solo backpackers. The tasks are really easy to get through and you can come with wishes, hostel is really flexible for what suits you.
For the work you put in you get so much. Kerrie and Nathan are the loveliest hosts and let you have your freedom fully in this relaxed place.
The hostel is also in a great location in central Wollongong and the city is also close to Sydney and a lot of other cool possible day trips.
The best for me was the welcoming and the group being so tight. Really made me feel like part of a big family!
