I had an amazing time at the yak and met lots of inspiring people:) The work in the bar was easy and mostly calm, but it was at times hard being out in the heat 6 hours straight!
But all in all I enjoyed my stay in Bacalar at the yak and made memories with the staff I will remember for a long time:D

I had such an amazing experience at the Yak! I highly recommend volunteering here. It was so much fun working at the hostel with so many people coming from various places around the world. Bacalar is also a great city and was the perfect destination for the month I spent volunteering :)

Truly grateful to have my first ever volunteering opportunity in Yak Lake House. Everything from the process to getting my trip confirmed to the work experience was perfect. Special shout out to Patricia from HR and my bar manager Adrian for their support and believing in me. The energy exchange was fair. The staff and volunteers were lovely to work with. The teamwork and connection we had during my season, I will never forget.

Me divertí mucho en el Yak, conocí gente de todo el mundo y el lago de Bacalar es lo más hermoso que he visto en Mexico. Nuestra casa en pueblo viejo es distinta a lo que se ve en las imágenes. Pero sin duda fue una excelente experiencia. Me pagaron tips, el pueblo es económico, sin variedad en el comercio. Pero la naturaleza es increíble!!
