Wilderness Beach House Backpackers

Travelers fall in love with Wilderness and The Beach House. Volunteers don't want to leave because locals are welcoming and just so much adventure awaits. The work is fun but we still try and keep high service standards.

I've been running The Beach House for 10 years and living my dream. We have multi cultural staff since South Africa is known for her rainbow nation. They will make you feel at home and show you the ropes.

It was hard to write just some words about my volunteering, because this is clearly the best experience of my life. I met A LOT of locals, that are now my friends, I improved my English and I had the time to do so much activities. The work is really easy, you’re in touch with the guests that’s really cool. I would like to say thank you to lieze I know you work really hard for this hostel and you’re doing a really great job for that.
Now for the futurs volunteers, I hope you will appreciate this place like I do, this is my 2nd home. I’m coming back !

Beachhouse was generally a great place to work. Lieze tries to give the volunteers a good experience; she’ll help coordinate activities, adjust work schedules, and give you rides places when she’s available. She can become easily stressed out on busy beachhouse nights, but if you ensure you’re helping out as agreed and don’t let the job stress you out, you’ll do just fine.

The biggest challenge here was the behavior of several of the full time employees here. There were inappropriate comments and gestures made towards the girls. After discussing with Lieze, things got better except one guy

I had the best time of my life at Wilderness Beach House! It was my first volunteer and I felt like home! Since the first day I was really welcomed by all the staff and guests! The place has an amazing vibe, where you’re able to meet people from all over the world and also the locals! Also you have many days off, so you can explore many activities around the area! I already miss my time there and I can’t wait to go back and visit everybody! And I want to thanks Lieze for always taking care of me! I definitely recommend this incredible experience!

My experience at Beach house was truly amazing. I already miss this place ! The location, the people, the activities, everything was nice.
Lieze is a very nice person, she always took good care of me and helped me when I needed, for example driving me to some places. She really tries her best to make your experience as a volunteer as good as possible. She always respected the work hours.
Overall the staff is very nice, I had some good laughs with them and I enjoyed working with them. It did happen that they made volunteers girls feel uncomfortable and I hope it won’t happen again.

I had a great stay at Beachhouse. The location is great and it has a stunning view. I met allot of nice people backpackers, staff and also a lot of locals.
I recommend volunteering here who wants to have a chill and nice time and is open to meeting new people. Thank you guys for everything:)
