We’re looking for a hands-on volunteer who enjoys gardening, growing, and working outdoors. Help us maintain and improve our gardens and growing areas through planting, weeding, pruning, soil preparation, composting, irrigation, harvesting, and seasonal work. The host is straightforward and values honesty and commitment. Daily tasks are well organized through an app, and respecting the house rules creates a pleasant environment. Work varies from easy to physically demanding. Farm food is a wonderful part of the experience. Cooking and kitchen organization are extra shared duties outside working hours. The farm is truly off-grid, a 20-minute walk from the village, with limited buses to Toledo, especially on weekends, so plan ahead. Summer is extremely hot, which can make outdoor work more demanding.

The experience was great. I learned a lot of new things about sustainability and regenerative farming. Archie and Aurelie are very interesting people, the talks with them are usually really fun and they have two adorable and energetic girls. The animals in the farm are also very nice. Really, my only complaint about the experience is that cooking and dishes times are not included in the daily hours, and doing the dishes for a family of four plus a few volunteers can be a bit overwhelming, but since it's on a rotation basis, it becomes a little lighter. I do recommend this experience, though.

The host spoke disparagingly about my country, didn't respect the work schedule or the assigned tasks, and left out certain things, such as cleaning the Airbnb. I completed all the tasks satisfactorily, and the host himself acknowledged this, with my colleague present. I have studied programming and have worked for companies. When I asked for more details about the project's resources, the host got upset and accused me of not knowing how to do my job. Due to an assigned appointment for legal document renewal and a test, I had to leave, they already knew the day and time I would leave.

My feedback is based on my experience of the stay and the expectations that were agreed upon before arrival regarding tasks, availability, and communication. When there is a mismatch between agreed conditions and how the exchange unfolds in practice, I document it for future hosts.
