Tuve uno de los mejores momentos en el refugio de perros. Todos los perros (y gatos) eran tan dulces y amables, siempre felices de recibir afecto, y sentías que les estabas regalando unos momentos maravillosos que todos ellos merecen más que de sobra.
Las rutinas son claras y aseguran que todos los perros reciban el cuidado adecuado. Helen hace todo por sus perros y se nota cuánto se preocupa por cada uno de ellos. Helen es una mujer poderosa con un gran corazón, tanto para los animales como para sus voluntarios.

This was an awesome experience, that I'll never forget. For someone who loves dogs is this the perfect volunteering. I had so much fun but I also gained a lot of experience. Some days were harder than the others obviously, but nothing unmanageable. We were starting very early in the morning and Helen does not buy meat for us to cook. Those were only two factors I had to get used to. Overall I had a great time and it really made me want to do more volunteering, as this was my first time volunteering.

Choosing this as a first volunteering experience was probably the best decision I could have made. Helen was always so kind and helpful, even if we messed something up. The work itself can get physically and mentally hard if a lot is happening in one day, but it's nothing to be worried about. Every hard day can be easily fixed by cuddling with one of the lovely dogs ;)

Helen is awesome! And an amazing lady who is really doing such a good thing. It was great to volunteer with and for her. I would've loved some more company while I was there, but the dogs are incredible and make sure to say hi to William and Arlo (my 2 favourites!)

It was my first Worldpackers experience and it was great. Helen is very kind and she is doing amazing job with the dogs. At the beginning it's difficult to learn the routine and remember dogs' names, but over time you'll get it. The work isn't hard but you have to be a true dog lover and not afraid to get your hands dirty. Days off are not guaranteed and when it's not enough volunteers you might have to work a bit longer, but I enjoyed my stay anyway.

Foi meu primeiro voluntáriado e tive uma experiência muito boa, os cachorros são todos uns doces e já estou com saldade deles. O trabalho é bem simples, alimentar, limpar e passear com os cachorros. Voltaria com certeza.

I had a really great experience staying at the shelter for 2 months! Helen is so kind and cares so much for the dogs. It's hard work but it's very rewarding! I would definitely recommend volunteering here if you are an animal lover. One note is that days off are not guaranteed if there are not enough volunteers, so you may have to work every day you are staying. There is however still plenty of free time during the day between working shifts. The location is very rural, a good place to relax and appreciate nature! The dogs are all lovely and were very difficult to leave.

Minha experiência foi caótica? Muito. Faria de novo? Com a mais absoluta certeza! Helen é uma pessoa maravilhosa que gerencia um lugar de esperança para nossos amigos de 4 patas. Ela sempre foi muito atenciosa e compreensiva com os voluntários. A estação confesso que foi o que mais pesou, muito frio. O lugar é lindo, porém é necessário ir com a mentalidade de que não é muito limpo e chique, bem simples e cheio de lama hahaha Adoraria voltar e super recomendo, mas viria em outra época do ano para poder aproveitar de verdade! O amor e o jeito para lidar com os cachorrinhos é essencial❤️

Spending time here was a really rewarding adventure. The dogs are full of energy and affection, and you quickly feel connected to them. Each day brings small but meaningful moments while caring for them. At the beginning it can be a challenge to get used to all the names and locations, but soon the routine flows naturally. The volunteer housing is quite simple and could be more comfortable, yet it doesn't take long to adjust and focus on the joy of being with the dogs.

Overall, it was a wonderful and enriching experience. The dogs are incredibly affectionate and it's impossible not to feel their love every day. Looking after them gave me a strong sense of purpose. At first, the routine can seem overwhelming—trying to remember the names of so many dogs and where each one belongs—but after a few days everything becomes familiar and much easier. The accommodation for volunteers could be improved, but with time you find ways to adjust and make the most of it.
