Programa detallado

We do ~25 hours a week, depending on you experience in the area we're looking for. Usually we do at least 2 day off and we try to give you a few days heads up about the schedule - generally we do it on Friday for the following week - and we are flexible if you let us know before-hand of any open times you need. We check in with you pretty regularly to make sure you have everything you need and you're enjoying the tasks you're doing - we need folks who can work independently but keep the balance of communication to be on the same page. We're a low key hostel, but also social -- currently trying to do more activities in the hostel.

Actividades & Turnos

When you arrive, you'll have a meeting with our volunteer coordinator to go over expectations, questions/doubts :). These are all things you would have discussed with us by video chat before-hand. You'll have reception shifts combined with some other tasks; the overnight shifts, are not all night -- very rarely do you end up working more than 6 hours total (9:30pm - 11:30pm + 7am-8:30am usually are active hrs). HOWEVER: if you have a check-in past midnight, you will have to wake up and do it. You'll set up, serve, and clean up the breakfast 2-3 times a week, from ~ 7:15am-10:15am (maybe less if you cover more reception shifts). We'll also balance this out with cleaning tasks. English+Spanish needed, but English is right now more important. If you have any other skills that you want to explore and think would be useful, we're open to seeing how we can work together on that!

Reglas

We have pretty standard rules, though unfortunately right now we are a bit more strict with visitors of guests, staff, or volunteers (it's due to a security consideration). You can't drink or use substances in an obvious way in the hostel nor if it affects that way you work. We will not tolerate any form of hate speech, nor any type of disrespect towards anyone else in the hostel -- especially towards our staff or volunteers. Ask us for more details and other rules!
