Sleepzone Volunteer Information

Thank you for your interest in the Sleepzone Hostel group. We operate three hostels on the west coast of Ireland with a combined total of about 400 beds. Our main hostel is in Galway city and operates year round. We also operate The Burren Hostel in Lisdoonvarna in Co. Clare and The Connemara Hostel near Leenane in Co. Galway.

The Connemara Hostel is located almost on the shore of Killary Fjord where mountains and sea meet in stunning scenery and is a short driving distance from the Connemara National Park and the beautiful Kylemore Abbey.


We are currently accepting volunteers for the 2023 season at The Connemara Hostel. The programme is based on a minimum of 2 week commitment and no salary is paid.

Actividades & Turnos

Duties and working hours:

Volunteers will be assigned a variety of duties which include the following:

General housekeeping, cleaning and preparing guest rooms, dining room, kitchen and all of the public areas of the hostels.

Bar and dining room duties including serving guests and setting up for breakfast and other meals where necessary.

Where a volunteer has a sufficiently high standard of English there will also be some reception duties which will include assisting with check-in, showing guests around the hostel and to their rooms, answering any questions that guests may have and assisting in any way they can.

Training will be provided to assist volunteers to operate at hospitality industry standards. In all of our hostels we strive to give our guests the best possible experience and maintain high standards in all of our departments.
