J'ai fait du bénévolat au refuge et j'ai vraiment apprécié. Le travail est de deux heures le matin et deux heures l'après-midi, avec une longue pause entre les séances, il y a donc beaucoup de temps libre. Les tâches sont variées, mais au début il peut être délicat de trouver les personnes avec qui vous êtes censé travailler, car vous ne connaissez pas leurs noms et elles ne savent peut-être pas que vous êtes assigné. Voir les animaux spéciaux de près est une expérience vraiment unique. Après le travail, nous avons apprécié des feux de camp et du camping et nous avons joué aux cartes. La nourriture est simple et presque la même chaque jour, mais vous pouvez acheter des collations au supermarché. Dans l'ensemble, je le recommanderais sans hésitation.

Probablement l'une des meilleures expériences de ma vie ! En commençant par le personnel, ils sont extrêmement compétents et savent exactement comment vous enseigner tout ce dont vous avez besoin pour travailler avec les animaux. Ils sont aussi très aimables et passionnés par ce qu’ils font. La routine quotidienne comprend des activités du matin et de l’après-midi, et vous alternez entre différentes tâches chaque jour. Ainsi, en une semaine seulement, vous pouvez les expérimenter toutes. Personnellement, nourrir les lionceaux et travailler avec les girafes ont été mes préférées absolues !

This is definitely an experience I will always carry with me throughout my life! If you are looking for a unique and authentic place to volunteer at, then this is the place. I want to thank the incredible staff who took care of me from day one. The work they are doing is truly amazing! The animals at the center are well taken care of by these people. The center is located at the top of a hill with beautiful hills surrounding it. The location is a bit isolated so you will be spending most of your time at the center. I am very thankful for the opportunity of experiencing the culture of Uganda!

My experience at the shelter was truly wonderful. The staff is incredibly kind and welcoming, and having the chance to interact directly with wild animals is simply extraordinary. I learned so much about their behavior, needs, and the importance of protecting them. It was also great meeting other volunteers from around the world! It's an unforgettable adventure that has left a deep mark on me—something I will always carry in my heart with gratitude and joy. There are a few improvements to be made, but overall I am very satisfied with the experience. I'm gonna miss Uganda so much 🥹

My time at the shelter was a once in a lifetime experience that I think back on fondly. You get to have so many cool, close interactions with the animals and learn so much about them. I even got to see people conquer some fears, which is such cool growth to witness. I really loved getting to spend time with/getting to know the local staff who also work at the shelter. They were so welcoming. They're actively doing construction to expand as of my time there and I look forward to see how the shelter keeps growing in the future!

I originally signed up for two weeks of volunteering at the shelter, but ended up staying five — and that says it all! It was a unique experience to be so close to the animals and to learn how they truly are and live. Every day was different, and I felt lucky to contribute to their care and protection. the shelter team is amazing – warm, passionate, and always willing to share their knowledge. I'm incredibly grateful for this opportunity. 💚

I had a wonderful time at the shelter and can't wait to go back in the future! I was able to learn so much about all of the animals they have and care for them hands on as well. Even though I was there for a short amount of time, all of the workers were very nice and inclusive and made my experience far more enjoyable. Even on my days off, I wanted to stay at the compound and spend more time with the people and animals. This truly was a life changing experience and I recommend to all animal lovers and those who even just want to immerse themselves in something new. 2 weeks was not enough!
