Mi sono offerto come volontario al rifugio e ne ho tratto molto piacere. Il lavoro è di due ore al mattino e due al pomeriggio, con una lunga pausa tra le sessioni, quindi c'è molto tempo libero. Le attività sono varie, ma all'inizio può essere complicato trovare le persone con cui dovete lavorare, poiché non conoscete i loro nomi e potrebbero non sapere che siete assegnati. Vedere da vicino gli animali speciali è un'esperienza davvero unica. Dopo il lavoro, ci siamo goduti falò da bivacco e campeggio e abbiamo giocato a carte. Il cibo è semplice e quasi sempre lo stesso ogni giorno, ma è possibile comprare snack al supermercato. In definitiva lo consiglierei sicuramente.

Probabilmente una delle migliori esperienze della mia vita! Partendo dal personale, sono incredibilmente competenti e sanno esattamente come insegnarti tutto ciò di cui hai bisogno per lavorare con gli animali. Sono anche molto gentili e sinceramente appassionati di ciò che fanno. La routine quotidiana comprende attività al mattino e al pomeriggio, e tu ruoti tra diverse attività ogni giorno. In questo modo, in una sola settimana, puoi provarle tutte. Personalmente, nutrire i cuccioli di leone e lavorare con le giraffe sono stati i miei preferiti assoluti!

This is definitely an experience I will always carry with me throughout my life! If you are looking for a unique and authentic place to volunteer at, then this is the place. I want to thank the incredible staff who took care of me from day one. The work they are doing is truly amazing! The animals at the center are well taken care of by these people. The center is located at the top of a hill with beautiful hills surrounding it. The location is a bit isolated so you will be spending most of your time at the center. I am very thankful for the opportunity of experiencing the culture of Uganda!

I enjoyed so much my stay at the shelter!! The animals, the place, the people, everything was perfect! The work is easy and you get the chance to see animals you never tought you would see. I really recommended:))

My experience at the shelter was truly wonderful. The staff is incredibly kind and welcoming, and having the chance to interact directly with wild animals is simply extraordinary. I learned so much about their behavior, needs, and the importance of protecting them. It was also great meeting other volunteers from around the world! It's an unforgettable adventure that has left a deep mark on me—something I will always carry in my heart with gratitude and joy. There are a few improvements to be made, but overall I am very satisfied with the experience. I'm gonna miss Uganda so much 🥹

My time at the shelter was a once in a lifetime experience that I think back on fondly. You get to have so many cool, close interactions with the animals and learn so much about them. I even got to see people conquer some fears, which is such cool growth to witness. I really loved getting to spend time with/getting to know the local staff who also work at the shelter. They were so welcoming. They're actively doing construction to expand as of my time there and I look forward to see how the shelter keeps growing in the future!

I originally signed up for two weeks of volunteering at the shelter, but ended up staying five — and that says it all! It was a unique experience to be so close to the animals and to learn how they truly are and live. Every day was different, and I felt lucky to contribute to their care and protection. the shelter team is amazing – warm, passionate, and always willing to share their knowledge. I'm incredibly grateful for this opportunity. 💚

I had a wonderful time at the shelter and can't wait to go back in the future! I was able to learn so much about all of the animals they have and care for them hands on as well. Even though I was there for a short amount of time, all of the workers were very nice and inclusive and made my experience far more enjoyable. Even on my days off, I wanted to stay at the compound and spend more time with the people and animals. This truly was a life changing experience and I recommend to all animal lovers and those who even just want to immerse themselves in something new. 2 weeks was not enough!
