Hoy, después de casi dos meses, me despido de Sammatz (no pensé que me quedaría tanto tiempo). Esta experiencia fue como una montaña rusa. Desde el momento en que llegué, tan cansada del viaje desde Colombia, vi las cosas de manera diferente; no estaba tan abierta ni preparada para esta experiencia, así que al principio fue un poco impactante. Sin embargo, con el tiempo, me di cuenta de que me había encariñado con el lugar. Hice muchas amistades que nunca olvidaré, reí a carcajadas, jugué, aprendí, apliqué mis habilidades en redes sociales e incluso lloré durante las dolorosas despedidas.

Sammatz is an excellent place to connect with people from all over the world. The community is incredibly kind, and with the vast space, there's always something to do. You can work in various areas like feeding the farm animals, gardening, farming, and construction. However, keep in mind that cleaning is a frequent task, and sometimes there may be more cleaning duties than others. It's also a great opportunity to improve your English. I thank Sammatz for allowing me to meet and connect with amazing people

Sammatz was my 1st volunteering experience. I really loved my stay of 4 weeks mainly because of the people I met from all over the world. We were over 40 nationalities and I made great friends. The working hours were always respected. I worked in: garden, cleaning, bakery, Cafe, stables, babysitting. Except for the baking, I wasn't really passionate about the other jobs, but it was balanced out in the eventful amazing evenings with the volunteers. I am not 100% sure that everything is as eco, but I am not informed enough to judge. I recommended the experience, but be prepared to be tired ;)

Mi experiencia en Sammatz ha sido increíble. Al principio te parecen demasiadas horas (son 6h/día) pero poco a poco te vas a acostumbrando y sobretodo vas conociendo a gente nueva, que es el mayor tesoro que te llevas de Sammatz. Tener en cuenta que son “vegetarianos” y no comen mucha carne, hay embutidos y de vez en cuando salchichas. En resumen es una experiencia que no me perdería

It's nice to have contact with people from different parts of the world. But it's important to say that the shifts are very spread out, so sometimes you will start very early and finish very late because you will have several little breaks during the day. Also cleaning bathrooms, showers and kitchen does not count as working hours. Furthermore there is a lot of food waste, and considering that it was supposed to be a sustainable community, this should be improved.

All the people I worked with at Sammatz were really lovely and always went above and beyond for their community. I loved the vibe and the energy in the blue house, and meeting so many new people! There's always such a strong sense of community and togetherness. I learned a lot, especially in the medicinal fields with Nadja and in the Cafe with Caro, and there's lots of different areas. My only complaints are that the hours could be quite long, eg, from 8.00am to 8.30pm (with breaks in between), and that outside of working, there wasn't actually a lot to do.

Pasé una estancia bonita en Sammatz. A pesar de que se convivía con mucha gente, el sitio era acogedor y agradable. Sentí la carga de trabajo, pero valió la pena porque aprendí muchas cosas nuevas y conocí a personas maravillosas.

If you're looking for a typical exchange to do some tourism, don't go to Sammatz. This is not a place to leave your luggage and take a bus to another city. In Sammatz, you have to be present; you'll work a lot and keep your head (and hands) busy. So, only go there if you want to learn a lot, discover new interests and ways of living, and build strong friendships and memories while doing so. For me, the main two improvable points are the Blue House situation with the teenagers and the extra working hours for kitchen and bathroom cleaning. I hope to return soon! <3

El lugar es precioso, las instalaciones son limpias y organizadas (la mayoría del tiempo). La carga de trabajo a veces puede ser pesada (6.5hrs) física y mentalmente. Una experiencia que vale mucho la pena si quieres hacer buenas amistades, viajar y salir de tu zona de confort.

El lugar es precioso, grande y con muchas cosas por hacer, ten en cuenta las horas extras y el trabajo que en situaciones puede ser agotador físicamente y mentalmente, fuera de eso estamos muy agradecidas esperamos volver pronto 🫶🏻
