I volunteered at the host for 2 weeks, and it was such an amazing experience. All of the teachers and students are so kind and they made me feel so welcome in their community. The teachers also organised trips for us including going to waterfalls, the beach and the mountains. I would highly recommend this to people who want to get involved in local culture and are willing to try new things. Thank you so much to all the teachers, and the other volunteer the host for making my time in the host so memorable.

The teachers and students from the SMK Dane Rahill have been so kind and welcoming and their enthusiasm is truly contagious. To me it felt a bit like an unorganized mess at times... but if you are open-minded, the culture and local experience can be an amazing eye opener and insight into their way of living! They taught us a traditional dance, they showed us traditional music and food, we saw some amazing sights... and besides the wonderful tours, I want to thank my co volunteer Mairi for creating and being part of this unforgetable experience! Terima kasih for this mantap betul time!

Such a wonderful experience. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to properly immerse themselves in the culture and get a local experience. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming ,I immediately felt at home. The students were so happy and enthusiastic and such a joy to be around. The teachers couldn't have done enough for you , particularly Hapiz , Majri, Ari and Dani who went above and beyond to make sure I enjoyed my time there. Again would highly recommend to all backpackers!! Thank you for such an incredible experience (:

I can hardly express how they made me feel while living there. This was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. The students, teachers, and their families were incredibly kind, always welcoming me with smiles. The students were the true stars, spending time with them was pure joy, despite language barriers. Their excitement and happiness were infectious. Don't hesitate to join this volunteer program; these kids will warmly welcome you, share their culture, invite you into their homes, cook for you, and you might even end up doing some karaoke with them. I had an amazing time here, all the teachers and the students are so kind and always making sure you are okay. Every day you visit beautiful places like waterfalls and natural pools as well as trips to places further away on your days off. I would really recommend this program to anyone wanting to experience the local culture and try something different.

I cant recommend this experience enough! The entire team at the host/SMK Dane Rahil welcomed me with open arms into their family—I truly felt like one of their own. I had a wonderful time with the students, they're so respectful and kind, and the local teachers will support you in any way you may need. The food is delicious, the accommodations are very comfortable, and you will have the opportunity to have so many local experiences, from seeing traditional crafts to exploring the many waterfalls of East the host, and so much more! Thank you so much again for all the memories❤️

When I talk with the host he told me that I would stay in the school residence, but when I arrived there he told me that his boss didn't want the volunteers to sleep there anymore, so I had to stay at one of the teachers house. The house was is a local village, the bed was on the floor, the bathroom outside and there wasn't a shower. All the people were amazing and welcoming but I couldn't stay there for 20 days, so I left before.

La scuola sta subendo lavori di riparazione e di costruzione di aule, quindi la stanza che di solito ospita i volontari viene usata dai lavoratori. Poiché abbiamo già raggiunto un accordo e per me non è giusto cancellare l'arrivo dei volontari.

My stay at smk dane rahill school was filled with so much joy. I really enjoyed spending my time with the students and we got to do so many things together. from being invited to their home to eat to exploring nature and of course the karaoke at night, be prepared. majri is a very person who truly wants to help the kids. the culture is very strong, so be aware that if you feel interested in this project you are coming to their space, so maybe communicate or read more about it before you commit so you do not create any false expectations. you can always message me for details :) terima kasih🙏
