Questo è stato uno dei miei volontari preferiti finora! Ho incontrato alcune delle persone migliori che hanno reso il mio tempo lì indimenticabile. Ana è una grande responsabile; dedicava sempre del tempo a mostrarci eventi e zone da visitare ed era flessibile con il lavoro e i giorni di riposo. Clieton, il responsabile del caffè, è una leggenda assoluta, sempre lì per aiutarti nel caffè e mostrarti le basi. Lavorare al caffè è divertente; impari anche un po\' di portoghese, cosa davvero utile. La posizione è anche fantastica; ci sono tanti posti da visitare nell\'Algarve e avventure da vivere. Consiglio vivamente questo volontario!

Ho assolutamente adorato fare volontariato nell'ostello! L'estetica era mozzafiato. Lo staff era fantastico. Un saluto speciale ad Ana, Clayton e Carla per rendere l'esperienza indimenticabile. Sono cresciuto molto nel mio mestiere di barista e barman, e è stata davvero un'esperienza da sogno. Non vedo l'ora di tornare l'anno prossimo!

Mi sono divertito molto facendo volontariato nel ristorante dell'ostello. Le ragazze che ho incontrato facendo volontariato insieme erano incredibili. Ci siamo divertiti molto facendo avventure casuali nella regione dell'Algarve, in Portogallo. Portimão è una città così centrale nella regione, il che ha reso facile fare la spesa essenziale mentre si è davvero in contatto con la natura. La titolare Ana e il responsabile Cleiton sono anche fantastici e davvero piacevoli con cui lavorare. Il lavoro comprendeva servire e preparare bevande. Impari anche un po' di portoghese durante il processo!!

This was my first volunteering abroad and it was an amazing experience. I spent three weeks during the high season working in the restaurant, mostly serving guests, and also learned bar skills thanks to Cleiton, who was patient and fun to work with. Days off are flexible and Ana was always supportive and invited us to local events, which made the stay richer. The only thing I'd suggest is creating a short manual for new volunteers, which would make the stay much easier and save time for everyone. The place and people quickly grew close to my heart, and I left with great memories and friends!

I had amazing 3 weeks at the hostel! It was my first volunteering experience and I made a great decision. I usually worked in the bar with Cleiton(permanent worker) who was so lovely and patient, he taught us how to make coffees and cocktails. Ana is a great manager, she can adapt to unexpected situations easily and she is really negotiable about working schedule . You can feel free to ask her about recommendations on exploring the best beaches or sights. Also, she is really talented in picking the best volunteers, we got along so well with the girls-I made lifelong friendships!

I worked reception in the hostel for four weeks as my first Worldpackers experience. The other volunteers were amazing and I made lifelong friends. The hostel was clean and the volunteer accomodation was like a mini apartment. The reception position was a bit more stressful than anticipated for the first few days but became better as you got the hang of it. The hostel was a bit far from the beach given it is in city center but Ubers are relatively cheap and Ana tells you the best places to go. I learned a ton and really got to know the area with incredibly kind people, so thanks again!

I had a great time at the hostel. The hostel itself feels very clean and professional, the team were all very welcoming too. The tasks were overall as described, as were the hours. I worked reception and did the same hours everyday, which allowed for most of the afternoon and evening to enjoy exploring the beautiful Algarve. The only potential downside was occasionally having to check guests in outside of work hours if they arrived late, but I was happy to do this. Overall, I have a lot of respect for Ana and the business she is running. Thank you for having me! :)

I want to thank Ana, her family, and the permanent staff for the amazing experience I had with the hostel—it truly felt like a home away from home. Ana is a fantastic host, respectful of work hours, and often let us finish early a few days a week. She gave great tips on what to do in the Algarve and made sure we had what we needed. Volunteers get a weekly grocery budget, so you can cook your own meals. The shared space was cozy but had all the essentials. I already miss the other volunteers and staff. This was my first Worldpackers experience, and it has set the bar high. Obrigada!

I spent 6 weeks at the hostel working in the cafe and really enjoyed it, the hours were as listed, the staff is lovely (honorable mention to Cleiton, the permanent staff in the cafe, he is so kind, patient, respectful and really cared for us all!) Ana was a great host, and really took us in as her own! She would always give recommendations, as well as invite us along to hangout with her friends! Ana is very understanding and as long as you can communicate anything you may think could be improved she is always right on it!! Truly a beautiful place with lovely people!

Fue mi primer experiencia como voluntaria y no podría haber elegido mejor. Pude aprender mucho sobre cafetería ya que era mi primera vez trabajando en un brunch, Ana & Cleiton hicieron que la experiencia fuera muy divertida! Portimão es una ciudad hermosa y muy tranquila, cerca de distintas ciudades y playas increíbles. En el verano suele haber muchos festejos por lo que pude sumergirme en la cultura local. Conocí personas increíbles que hicieron de este voluntariado una experiencia única. Obrigado familia el hostel <3
