The Experience

In this role you will help our restaurant staff with cleaning tables, taking orders, and assisting customers with questions about the menu. You will help maintain cleanliness of the restaurant, and may be assigned other small tasks to help operations run efficiently. Help with putting orders into the system and taking payments will occasionally be required. A positive attitude is a must while interacting with customers.

I had a wonderful experience in Portimão at the hostel! Both the restaurant and the hostel were very cozy and welcoming, it was my first time with WP, and it was definitely very positive. The owner Ana and the whole team were always friendly and helpful, the work was very easy and doable as it was low season and there were not many tourists. During these three weeks, thanks to the days off or outside the working hours, I was able to get around the Algarve a lot, both buses and trains leave from Portimão and it is therefore very easy. I would definitely recommend this experience!

I had a great experience at the hostel ! It was my first experience as a waitress and it went well. The restaurant team is very welcoming, the work was not complicated and the schedules were given in advance. It was quiet during this month of December in Portimão but the city is very well located to visit all Algarve ! The manager, Ana, was very present and available whenever I needed help or something for accommodation/meals. She also gave me good advice so that I could visit the Algarve as best as possible. I will come back with pleasure if I can :)

I had a great experience here. The work was easy and fun but a bit slow sometimes since it is low season for the restaurant. The hostel was cozy and clean and you easily felt like home. Ana (The manager) is kind and communicated well about the tasks/ scheduele and was very flexible if you needed to change something. Portimao is a small town with not that many tourists so it is a great place if you want a local experience. Good cafés, malls and beautiful beaches within walking distance. The other volunteers were amazing and I really recommend this place :) .

I had a really great experience in the hostel. The work in the restaurant is quite easy, mostly taking orders and payments, but someone from the permanent staff is always there to help. Due to the low season in November the shifts were a bit slow, but the whole town is quite chill and out of tourists at this time. We got cooked lunch and dinner every day, and also some cold basics for breakfast. Ana, the manager is always accessible, it's easy to communicate whether you have questions or needs. I had a nice, clean and supportive environment here, I really recommend to volunteer here.

I loved my stay at the hostel! The work at the restaurant is just as in the description, can be very busy, but in a good way. The hostel is amazing, nice and cozy, and the staff is very friendly. Ana is really nice, always helpful and flexible. I recommend this experience a 100%, you can explore a lot around Portimao, you can reach almost everything by train.
