I had almost no idea of gardening before I came to the Center – which was no problem, because the inhabitants of the community showed my all I had to know. I had a very warm welcoming by the other volunteers and community inhabitants. Lovely people I had a bunch of interesting conversations with. It was my first time living in a spiritual community with all the yoga and some rituals. Very inspiring! Single thing to criticize are the prices for laundry and pick up – not what I expected for volunteering. Nevertheless: Stjärnsund is a incredibly lively village surrounded by beautiful nature!

Here's some background: Annoyed American who began to dislike his job wanted to travel. Friend who uses Worldpackers refers me, and I find out about the Center. Never would I have imagined I'd make friends from 4 of the 7 continents and 8 countries, get very good at video editing, experience the Swedish countryside, and overall feel myself come out of my shell I had created for the last few years. You're helping a great cause and great people, who also want the absolute best for all their volunteers. Once in a lifetime opportunity that truly made me a more patient and understanding person.

Noah è venuto dagli Stati Uniti per stare con noi per 3 settimane. Siamo stati molto felici di condividere con lui un altro tipo di stile di vita, dove poteva rallentare e godersi le piccole cose. My experience at the Center was incredible. It is such a welcoming and heartwarming place. I got to meet so many amazing people, my fellow volunteers and roommates who have become like family to me as well as the wonderful community members around us who have been unbelievably kind and supportive. I am beyond grateful for the memories I made and most importantly for the people I had the privilege to get to know and that I got to experience all the little adventures with. I couldn't ask for a better volunteering experience. I miss you all and I will definitely be back!! <3

Luzie si è inserita subito nella famiglia del volontariato. Era nota per la sua domanda quotidiana "Come è stata la tua giornata?", aprendo uno spazio affinché tutti potessero connettersi. The Center wasn't just a volunteering experience. In this little swedish village I found people for life, people to cry, laugh and argue with. People who will be forever in my heart. This place is so so much more than this World packer entry could ever put into words. I am already looking forward to come back to everyone and feel all the warmth again.

Ci siamo quasi perse Charlie e siamo molto felici che abbia cambiato i suoi piani una seconda volta per trascorrere il tempo con noi. Si è buttata in un gruppo di volontari incredibilmente pazzo con un atteggiamento positivo e si è rapidamente sentita a casa nel gruppo. È arrivata con molte competenze diverse e si è buttata nella costruzione e nella riparazione. È stata di grande aiuto nel pulire e nell'organizzare alcuni spazi caotici di cui siamo molto grati! Charlie era molto amata dai bambini del villaggio e non vediamo l'ora di accoglierla di nuovo! Grazie

In just a few weeks, the people around me became a family. Everything you give to improve this place will be reflected back on you with a lot of love. So much that you'll remember it for the rest of your life. I leave with a heavy heart but with happiness. So many names that I would like to thank but I don't have enough space. Guillem e Marius sono una coppia da sogno piena di amore e di amicizia, che riempiva di calore l'appartamento dei volontari ogni giorno (così ho sentito!). È facile godere della loro compagnia. Molta gratitudine per il tempo e l'attenzione che Guillem ha dedicato a tutto ciò con cui ci ha aiutato. In molte occasioni si fermava per aiutare, anche quando le sue ore di volontariato erano finite, e diceva persino che se la stava semplicemente godendo. Tanto cuore e spirito. I had a great time at the Center. I met some wonderful people and everyone has been so kind to me, contributing to an experience I will never forget. The schedule is very flexible and everyone is open minded about différents ideas, which is very pleasant. I strongly recommend this place !

Marius si è unito a noi con il suo amico Guillem... erano semplicemente fantastici e in effetti sono ancora qui perché hanno deciso di restare più a lungo. Sono veri professionisti nella loro arte: la realizzazione di film. Portano molta creatività, umorismo e allegria al gruppo e, allo stesso tempo, sono profondamente onesti e condividono dal profondo del loro cuore. Marius, come ha osservato un altro volontario, è molto intelligente. Anime gentili. Lo raccomando vivamente.

Had the best time of my life in Stjärnsund. I met some amazing people that will always be in my heart. I had the chance to reconnect with nature and myself, taking walks to lake and exploring. We had a pizza night, campfires, slept in the forest, watched the stars on the pier. The work hours are really flexible and you can manage yourself. I helped with the marketing, but also helped with some physical work as harvesting potatoes and beets, taping windows, raking the leaves and shoveling. Every monday there is a community meeting where everyone shares their thoughts and it's heartwarming 🫶🏻

Nicole è arrivata piena di energia e ha davvero assunto il suo ruolo e preso l\'iniziativa. Nicole si è messa in contatto con tutti e si è sentita subito a casa. Ha apprezzato la natura, le persone e tutto ciò che questo villaggio ha da offrire. È stata in grado di collaborare con tutti e far parte della creazione di un ambiente positivo. Non vediamo l\'ora che Nicole torni a novembre per continuare il suo lavoro :) Il suo entusiasmo e il suo senso dell\'humor sono sempre apprezzati.

I really want to thank you for having me. the Center is just such a special place, truly like you can't find anywhere else. Everyone was welcoming and kind. Also, it was really nice to see how well everyone living there took care of each other. The work was really diversified and could be individual to your strengths. During my stay, it was mostly repairing windows and work outside in the garden. I especially loved, how surrounded by nature Stjärnsund is. You should definitely go for a swim in the lake or a walk through the forest. I can surely recommend traveling there :)

Pia è molto coraggiosa. Ci viene a trovare come la sua prima esperienza di viaggio da sola. Pia è intelligente e creativa e ha ideato un bellissimo design per una nuova insegna da giardino, includendo i suoi dettagli dipinti a mano. Grazie, Pia :)

Hi everyone, I spent two weeks in Fredhem, it was the best ever. I felt like home and the hospitality of the people is wonderful, Kels and the community have opened the door to me making me feel in the right place, I was looking for a place with my own values and Fredhem has them all. I met fantastic people with here I share my short stay, with whom I worked and practiced many wonderful activities, known their culture and language, I really enjoyed the unspoilt nature of Sweden and met other volunteers from different places, it was an experience to do again.. The Center is a magical place, with all the nature around, lakes and forests, the peace and sense of freedom, and meeting kind and fun volunteers made it an incredible experience🌸 What I take with me most is undoubtedly the wonderful people I met, from the kids to the elders, they made me feel at home and were like a hug to my heart. And I was lucky to have Kelsey around, with her bright energy, pure heart, empathy and humor! ✨ As for the tasks, they were renovating and painting windows, working outside with the grass and helping with a variety of things. I learnt a lot, and I will come back :)

Maria ha portato la luce con sé. Sorrideva ogni volta che ci incontravamo. Ha stretto forti legami con i locali, i bambini e la natura circostante. Maria si è messa al lavoro ed è riuscita a gestire alcune ristrutturazioni di finestre molto impegnative.
Siamo molto grati per il suo tempo e non vediamo l'ora che torni a trovarci a novembre!
