Homestay Deborah
The place is a magical very unique spot with the real African Safari feeling to it with lots of wildlife, while not being a park, and close enough to Nairobi, the capital, for any emergency or need for a break of wilderness for city life. Visitors feel at home as part of the household while still having all the privacy they wish with accommodation in a standalone guest cottage with own kitchen. A small but very friendly resident community, on walking distance, with a diverse set of interesting individuals, albeit mostly elderly. Horse riding skill a requirement.
We're a Swedish/French UN worker couple who travels much for work, thus need another set of hands and eyes on site. We have travelled both privately and professionally all over the world a lot through our lives and are very sociable with people of all cultures. We also have a great network of friends and partners across Kenya and can easily connect visitors for good deals on holidays or travels within the country. The property has 4 permanently employed local staff who are always on site and can help in case of any problem; a house boy, a gardener and two horse grooms. You will be the only volunteer on site and since this is on the country side it might get lonely at times, best suited to someone who seek peace and tranquillity.
