Maré Hostel Itapuã

We are by the sea, just minutes from Itapuã's shoreline; our environment is welcoming and familiar. In our hostel there are comfortable beds, a fully equipped kitchen, lockers, and we are looking for people who can receive and contribute positively to our environment.

We have a treatment based on mutual respect and trust. We talk a lot, sharing moments, meals and activities. Dialogue is something we value greatly so that everything always flows in the best possible way.

My experience at the hostel has been incredible. I was lucky to have some great roommates, time flew by. The hostel is well cared for and Jaira cares and is present in everything she can do; she is a wonderful person. Day to day: simple tasks, previously organized in the weekly spreadsheet, clear schedules. The hostel is calm and with several beaches very close to the Hostel. Thank you very much for everything! I highly recommend it.

I spent 3 weeks at the hostel and the experience was amazing! We were four volunteers: one Argentine, one Spanish woman, one Moroccan, and a Frenchman (me). Jaira welcomed us at the hostel as if we were family! Each moment was unique and the tasks at the hostel were very simple! I liked the atmosphere so much that I’m even extending my stay! Thank you <3

The hostel itself is pretty small so the work is really easy and done really quick. Most of the shift you don't have anything to do. The communication was a bit off. When i arrived no one was there and opened the door. I was also not given some essential information about the hostel. But the most frustating thing was that i worked more hours compared to some other volunteers, even tho we all applied to the same position and requirements. When I asked the owner about it, she just responded that it is none of my business. All that made me leave earlier.

Jaira is a great host, very attentive and fair.
The environment is calm, and I interacted with travelers and guests from various places, making friends.
I felt welcomed, and that was fundamental in my first volunteering experience with Worldpackers.
The tasks are easy and the schedules are previously agreed and flexible.
The hostel's location is very close to the lighthouse; I could go to the lagoon, I also really enjoyed the beach and watched the beautiful sunset at the hostel.
