Our experience volunteering in East the project was truly unforgettable and beautiful in so many ways. Not only we get to discover the incredible place that the project is and everything it has to offer, but we also had the chance to meet the most welcoming community. They welcomed us like family from the very beginning, creating bonds that we will never forget and always making us feel comfortable, happy and cared for. And the children completely stole our hearts. Seeing their happiness when meeting us was so special, and it was inspiring to see how excited and motivated they are to learn English ❤️

This whole team of people are the kindest, most welcoming group of people I have ever met. They make sure to show you everything their island has to offer, including waterfalls and rivers, mountains, local trades like pottery and basket weaving, authentic food, and just overall making sure your experience is fulfilling. The kids at the schools are so grateful and happy to have you there.

I have had the most incredible experience here. The community of friends and family I have made here have been amazing. Teaching English has been so fun and rewarding, especially seeing the kids learn and build confidence. I was nervous since it was my first time teaching English, but it has been perfect. Outside of teaching, I've been taken on so many adventures including secret waterfalls, a local wedding, making pottery and bamboo jewelry, beautiful views, nights in Kuta, and so much more. The food and accommodation is amazing, too. I have learned so much here and hope to come back!

The host Alfi and her entire team was extremely supportive through out my time there. Alfi has created a very cosy and inclusive space to teach the children. Her teaching style is very interactive. The team made sure it was an immersive experience for me as well, be it taking me to a local artisan to learn bamboo weaving to taking me to local waterfalls and secret beaches to teaching me their language and traditions, since I was there during Ramadan everyday she would make me try different delicacies prepared during this time. I would highly recommend the host, they truly became family ❤️

Mi experiencia estuvo muy linda, Alfy muy amable y atenta, al igual que Amalia e Ika, hicimos varias actividades juntas, compartimos almuerzos, cenas, me adentré mucho más en sus culturas y costumbres. Lo único que decir es que yo había aplicado para enseñar deporte, y ese suponía que sería mi rol, pero llegué y resulta que era enseñar inglés, estuvo muy bien igual lo disfruté mucho, pero me hubiese gustado saberlo eso por adelantado. Lo recomiendo totalmente 🤗❤️ Gracias !!!

Si antes de venir me hubiesen dicho que iba a comer sentada en el suelo, en un pequeño pueblo local, sin apenas comodidades y completamente inmersa en una cultura tan diferente, probablemente me lo habría pensado dos veces. Me alegro de no haberlo sabido. Además, el equipo siempre estuvo pendiente de nosotros: pedí que mi comida no fuera picante y la adaptaron desde el primer día. Este voluntariado me enseñó a valorar la sencillez, a salir de mi zona de confort y a descubrir que las mejores experiencias no siempre son las más cómodas. Me voy con recuerdos increíbles y un enorme agradecimiento.
