That this has been my first volunteering experience was wonderful!
I have been very warmly received; the owners have always been attentive and very considerate of everyone's needs, always treating us with respect and kindness.
Herick and Giulia knew how to value each person's work and even compensate in some cases.
All the volunteers have been very good to me; being away from home is difficult, but they knew how to make everything easier… Rosa, (Herick's mom), has been the most wonderful, always there and with her words making everything more beautiful.
I would 100% recommend it; I would return without a doubt, thank you for everything!

The host TEREZA. Many emotions. I am grateful to be part of this castle's history, as many people have passed through there; there is a lot of history. Talking about the owners: Giulia and Erik. They are incredible; I have never seen anyone as calm as Eric. The good thing is that Giulia helps balance his calm, lol. An even better place for those who want to stay near the best nightlife in RJ, even more so during Carnival, as it was at the host; there were many early blocks, so it was close to everything. The hostel has a gym, a pool, billiards, and a ping-pong table. A place that offers the opportunity to earn extra income. But you have to go to work; I wouldn’t recommend a lazy volunteer going, haha. Erick and Giulia are the host owners, nice people who help with whatever is needed, but you also have to help. There are lots of parties and events there. So it isn’t a calm place; the pure RJ vibe is very close to Lapa.

My experience with the host was good. The tasks are calm and the hours are flexible. Breakfast is very good. At the beginning we slept at the host's place; he is old and needs more repairs, it's okay. When we arrived, we tidied the kitchen and the bathroom, which were very messy and needed to be kept in order. Afterward we went to a newer room, but it was near the pool and the reception, so we didn't have much silence to sleep and we could hear everything. Besides that, the experience was good. We even took jiu-jitsu classes with Betinho. Thanks to the host!

The host proved to be a good home for me during my stay in Rio. The cleaning activities were heavy because at one point I was left alone and the equipment wasn't renewed. There were some communication issues that improved over time. The space is old but it's preserved and you can see the host's interest in improving it. The host's neighborhood is very picturesque, and you can always access interesting events. At the host I was able to attend jiujitsu classes with Betinho that were very good!
