The best place I've volunteered at so far! Management was great, everyone is very kind, and all of the volunteers were very well taken care of. Anything we needed was handled immediately. The accommodations were beautiful, the area is very safe and there's a lot of beautiful beaches nearby. The work isn't difficult and it was really fun getting to know all the students. This is a great place to immerse yourself in the local culture, and I'd recommend SALC to anyone that wants to visit Manta. 👍

First of all, everyone from the students to the staff are more than welcoming and helpful. The School itself is beautiful, and overall peaceful. When I arrived the normal restaurant we were supposed to have lunch at was closed and the management went above and beyond to fix this issue immediately. It was not a big deal at all but you could tell they cared, they found another near by restaurant with amazing staff that were extremely understanding and courteous with my lack of Spanish speaking skills. If you are like me and still learning Spanish SALC MANTA is a MUST! Muchas Gracias!!!

Our hosts at the school Centre genuinely wanted us to enjoy our stay and made us feel welcome from day one. My wife and I had a spacious room with a private bathroom, which made our time there very comfortable. Interacting with the students was the highlight of my experience—getting to know them, hearing their stories, and learning about their lifestyles and their culture made this placement truly memorable.

I had a great time in Manta. The staff were amazing, the managers and teaching staff were so welcoming, friendly and quick to sort anything out for you. The students were so interesting to talk to and I learned so much from them about their lives, their aspirations and Ecuador. I feel so much richer for the experience. The volunteering side is easy, you just need to talk to students one on one. Sometimes it is scripted questions and sometimes it's conversations based on their English level. Manta is what you make of it, it has beaches, gyms a big shopping mall and a heaps of places to eat.

I had a wonderful time in Manta for the month I was there! I felt so grateful to be surrounded by motivated students, kind hearted teachers, and a rich cultural experience right outside the center. The time really is what you make of it - there are gyms nearby, dance classes, and easy access to many beaches. If you are eager to encounter coastal Ecuadorian culture, this is the spot for you! If you have a high social battery (since you're talking to students for multiple hours) you would fit right in. Thanks SALC Manta!

I had such a lovely time volunteering at SALC Manta! I couldn't have asked for a better first Worldpackers experience. Everyone was so warm and welcoming and it felt great to be able to actually connect with people from the community. I would recommend this experience to anyone looking to do something more meaningful than your standard backpacker hub where it feels like people are constantly coming and going. I loved my time here and I hope to return again in the future! Special thank you to Diego, Eliana, Daniel and Santiago for being such lovely hosts/administrators! 😁

My time at the school was great especially for my first time using Worldpackers. I went with my best friend and we both really enjoyed our time there. All the teachers are so helpful and kind and the admin are super welcoming and made sure everything was okay for us. The area near the school was safe and the lunch provided was super yummy. The work was also really easy, it was fun to conversaste and connect with the students. I loved seeing the different beaches around too. The accommodations were spacious too. I would definitely recommend SALC Manta!

I had a great stay in Manta. Own Room with AC, lovely Co-Volunteers and easy talks with the students. The communication with Pam is good, just in the school itself it could be better organized. You will recieve a dish for lunch on the days you work. Have fun!
