I was only there for a short amount of time but I truly felt a good connection with nature and my host Julio. It's beautiful place to say and we enjoy a day out in the kayak and visiting friends on another part of the lake. If you love to be in a peaceful place with beautiful jungle and ocean this is the place for you. Thanks for hosting me and o hope to see you in Scotland one day! 🙌

My stay at the lodge with Julio, Viento and other volunteers was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Julio was a wonderful host. Full of heart, helpful and caring. While it took a bit of communication in the beginning, we quickly found our rhythm and built a trusting relationship. My time there was an adventure that brought me closer to nature, to myself, and a deeply sustainable way of living. If you are brave to step out your comfort zone, do it and live in the moment! I could write many more things, but most importantly I want to say gracias de todo corazón Julio!! Nos vemos!! Nina :)

Simplicity in touch with nature. It was for me a authentic jungle and beach experience, I had a lot of time to observe the nature environment, because I felt far away from my normal outside world. A place and project where I felt soon connected to and liked to give my energy and passion into it. Julio was for me a good host, he showed me his good intentions for this place, this place inspired my creativity, we did good work together :) I'm greatful Julio that you share your minimalistic jungle life with others, curious traveler's like me ;) And I wish you and Viento all the best!

Beni, kleiner Bruder, Dankema ist auch dein Zuhause... Es ist die reine Energie des Dschungels, komm, wann immer du willst (immer willkommen). Ich freue mich, im Raum und in der Zeit zu koexistieren. Halte dein Feuer am Leben, um andere auf der Lebensreise zu entdecken, genauso wie du es mit mir tust.

I stayed at the lodge for 3 weeks and the jungle / nature experience was great. I'm very glad that I spent my time there with other volunteers. Matthew and Zander's review is very accurate and I agree, that it was a bit unorganized and in general an up and down. In the end (the last few days) it got a bit better with getting clear instructions and Julio really showing how he wants something to be (for example which plants should be removed). I would have liked it, if it had been like that from the start. Despite everything, I was happy to have had the experience in the jungle.

Ich werde einfach etwas schreiben, weil du mir eine WhatsApp-Nachricht geschickt hast und mich gebeten hast, es zu tun. Wenn du Freiwilliger bist, kann ich dich nicht wecken, ich kann dir nicht jeden Tag dieselbe Aufgabe sagen, ich spreche oft mit dir und erkläre, dass dies ein Herzensprojekt ist, eine Verbindung der Gemeinschaft und des Landes. Wenn du es nicht fühlst, ist das in Ordnung, der einzige Tag, an dem ich strenger bin (Anfrage von Zander), beschweren sich alle. Das Frühstück ist um 7 Uhr, nicht um 9 Uhr... auch der Tag, an dem ich dir gesagt habe, dass Kochen nachts verboten ist, du belügst mich. Vergiss nicht, dass dies mein Haus ist.

Beautiful, isolated coastal Caribbean jungle. Julio is a very inconsistent host. Sometimes being kind, thoughtful, and accommodating. For example when I was sick and needed meds, he escorted me to a pharmacy in town. Other times I found myself frustrated with the structure or lack there of. One morning we enjoy breakfast together until 8:30. The next morning we are being rushed to the point of skipping breakfast so we can adhere to the 8am start mandated by the schedule. I found the programming to be directionless. Julio rarely worked with us. I want to recommend but I cannot.

Lieber Matthew, ich habe dir den Terminplan zweimal geschickt, mit allen Aufgaben gut beschrieben im PDF. Als ich dir Anweisungen gab, machtest du mir Gesichter, und ich fühlte mich mit dieser Art von Interaktion nicht wohl, also habe ich versucht, dir keine Anweisungen zu geben. An dem Tag, den du beschrieben hast, habe ich mich beeilt, das Frühstück auszulassen; es war eine Bitte an deinen Freund Zander, der nicht auf der Plattform ist und mit dir kommt. Sei dir bewusst, dass ich mit deinem Verhalten, meinen Regeln nicht zu folgen, nicht zufrieden war; ich will einfach Frieden an dem Ort, an dem ich wohne.

I loved my time at the lodge! The space was one of a kind. The reef was beautiful and so was the jungle. Julio was great with communication, hospitality and making sure I was comfortable the whole time. It's evident that his #1 goal is to make sure the volunteers have a good time. The food was fresh and delicious. I connect a lot with Julio's dog, Viento and I'll miss him a lot. I would definitely recommend this place to others as it brought me clarity, tranquility and peace.

I had a very interesting and deep experience at this place. It's a place where you have time to relax, to disconnect from everyday life and connect yourself with nature again. We did a lot of interesting works to maintain the property's special vibe. At the same time we spent a lot of time just talking to each other and having some really great evening conversations about every kind of topic. Julio, the manager of the place, is a really interesting personality from which you can learn a lot about living in harmony with nature and the important things in life. I really recommend this place!!!
