Albergue las Águedas

It is a rural place in a small village with the Saint James Way in the middle of Nature and close to the historical little city of Astorga in León (Spain). But this is a special place because is a family project become real and so special for us and for everyone who visits us. We have the Hostel (Albergue) and besides our Rural House. It is a big place in stone, wood, green and very good energy.

We are in the very Saint James Way and we are used to have volunteers of the Way (pilgrims), but also people who loves nature, little villages, and a relaxed environment who are looking for a personal path inside and a time to release the tensions of the city....and we are always opened to know new nice people from different backgrounds who are not afraid of working and helping other people.

This was my first volunteer job experience and I wouldn’t wish better. Juan was with us very kind and helper and he is give us a lot of energy and positivity. I truly recommend for everybody this place. The place is absolutely magical.

In the Albergue I was able to meet so many interesting people and really enjoyed to help the pilgrims with what they needed.
The work is quiet straightforward and only takes a two or three days to get the hang of it (you get one honeymoon day in the beginning).
The volunteers share a room together and we could relax in the hammock in the garden when there was no work.
All meals are provided and we usually ate together, which I really liked.
I can definitely recommend the Albergue if you´re looking for some time away from the big cities and enjoy meeting people from allover the world.

Albergue Las Aguedas en un lugar maravilloso lleno de buena energía. Juan y Evi son dos personas formidables, también los otros voluntari@s con los que me tocó compartir. Muy buen ambiente y trabajo en equipo. Las tareas son variadas y para nada pesadas. Se dispone de tiempo libre para descansar. La comida es fabulosa y el contacto con los peregrinos es algo muy bonito. Recomiendo 100 x 100 este voluntariado. Me llevo hermosos recuerdos y estoy seguro que volveré 🤩

Fui recibido afectuosamente por lo staff, o mas bien de la familia, que dirige el albergue, quienes demostraron una hospitalidad sincera y una pasión contagiosa por el Camino.
El albergue es un oasis de tranquilidad, con habitaciones sencillas y cómodas, cuidadas con cariño.🌳
Tuve la oportunidad de interactuar con peregrinos de todo el mundo, escuchando sus historias y ofreciéndoles sonrisas y apoyo.
Fue una experiencia que enriqueció mi alma y mi camino de una manera indescriptible.

My experience in Las Águedas was amazing. Was my first experience as a volunteer and it couldn’t be better. I was planning to get a job but I got a family there. Juan is a true pilgrim who loves the Camino and provides the best experience for others pilgrims. I feel very honored to have the opportunity to be part of this beautiful history. I will never could say thank you enough.
